Sony HDMI Progressive Scan DVD Player, Model DVPNS75H

Sony�s DVP-NS75H is a great companion to your HDTV. Its superior upscaling capability will dazzle you. DVD playback¹ at 720p or 1080i is crisp and clear making your movie experience more enjoyable. Like any other Sony DVD players, DVP-NS75H comes with the signature Sony features like Precision Cinema Progressive�, Precision Drive� 3 technology, Fast/Slow Playback with Sound and more to ensure great picture and sound quality on your DVDs.

Features:

HDMI� Output with 720P/1080i upscaling of DVD Media
Reads the data on a standard DVD at 480P and maximizes the video Resolution to best fit your HDMI compatible TV. This allows for you to enjoy the best in video performance while delivering Digital Video and Audio over one simple cable.
Precision Cinema Progressive� Technology
Other DVD players detect image changes at the Scan line level-Sony's Precision Cinema Progressive (PCP) system detects them at the Pixel level. The picture is more faithful to the source-whether film or video-because separate, optimized algorithms are used to handle the differing Pixel behavior. Separate algorithms are also used to process the moving and still parts of an image, resulting in sharp backgrounds with moving objects that are virtually free from motion artifacts.
Precision Drive� 3 System
Past generations of Precision Drive systems were only able to compensate for warped discs by moving the entire optical block, which took more time and limited the amount of correction possible. Sony's new Precision Drive� 3 system simplifies the process by moving the lens-instead of the entire optical block-for faster and more accurate error correction.
MP3 Playback
Playing MP3 Music on a Sony DVD Player is easy. Just insert an MP3 encoded disc and press MENU. A blue screen pops up to Display your folders. Scroll down the list using the remote or front panel cursor control to select the folder you want. The green files screen pops up to show the files in the selected folder. Select the file you want to hear and you're done. Finding music couldn't be easier.

Ordered on a Wednesday, got it on Thursday. Amazing. Setup was a breeze. An upconverting dvd player under $100 [...] and a Sony? That's a no-brainer. Picky-picky: Maybe I'm used to Toshiba's interface, but Sony's approach to menu design on this series of dvd players is more complicated than it needs be. EX: hard to find time- remaining on a disc. That said, this unit delivers a picture that will knock your eyes out. The upconversion to 1080 on my Panasonic 56" dlp rp milks everything there is to get out of any dvd. 'Til the "HD-Ray-Ray" BS is resolved with a cheap dual format unit (probably, what?, December 2007?), this Sony unit will fill bill with no compromise.

I just bought a Sony lcd TV and upgraded my TV package to HD. After watching movies on my old DVD player, the picture was definitely not as clear and vivid as the HD channels. I searched upscaling reviews and decided to buy the Sony DVPNS75H, our movies are now HD quality. The player is easy to setup and run, the disk loads in 25 seconds. The player brings new life to our DVD collection.

This DVD player puts a picture on my Panasonic LCD TV that's as close to HD as you can get without being there. Pictures are clear sharp and colorful.

Bought this with our new Bravia TV. Super upscaling performance at an excellent price. Make sure you go into the menu to maximize the sound to take advantage of your digital surround. This unit is getting rave reviews on every web community its a super deal till Blue Ray becomes affordable. Slow loading is my only issue.

Just bought this DVD player recenting and I got to say that after purchasing the HDMI(High definition multimedia cable). The picture is unbelievable and would recommend anyone to buy it. Well at least until the battle between HD disks and B-ray disks are settled. Cons about this player is that it does not play DIVX format but will play any burnt DVDs that you have as well as DL-RW. Hope you enjoy the DVD player as much as I have.

Video upscaling and sound are great with this player. Its not HD quality, but didn't expect that. No glitches after a month of use. This was purchased to replace a returned Toshiba SD-4980 which started freezing during playback on the second DVD played. Avoid that Toshiba model.
