By Mike B. from Richmond, VA on 05/26/2008.
Pros: Fast Setup, Simple Controls, Attractive Design
Best Uses: Home
How long have you owned it: One-to-three months
Describe Yourself: Tech Savvy, Professional
I have a number of wireless devices an have used wireless gaming adaptors, repeaters and so on. The Tivo wireless gizmo has been the easiest to setup and has never failed. My transmitter is on the 2nd floor with the Tivo on the first floor. It easily allows me to download/xfer hourly episodes, eg, from my PC while I watch an earlier episode and have the newer episode available by the end of watching the first one. That's all I really want from it. Still, if you can run a CAT5 to the Tivo, do it. But don't sweat it if that's an inconvenience - go wireless and you'll be fine.
Should come packaged with TiVo
By Conrow from Chicago, IL on 04/14/2008.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Strong Signal
Describe Yourself: Tech Savvy
Expands the capabilities of TiVo beyond what you achieve through the phone jack. The add-ons aren't as great as you'd get from [...], but if you already have a TiVo it would be easily worth the 50 bucks [...].

Pros: Easy To Set Up, Durable, Strong Signal
Best Uses: Living Room, Small Rooms, Bedroom
Describe Yourself: Professional
Cons: TiVo Desktop w 2 TiVo's
- I added this to the second TiVo I purchased and it connects so effortlessly to my existing network. - I have noticed that both of my TiVo's "drop" from my network and I can't share files between them or my pc without restarting the TiVo's. - I have an 80 Hour and 40 Hour Series 2 TiVo's. One is the old black case and the other is the newwe style white Series 2 case.

If you use a very long, secure WPA key, it's very difficult to enter. But that's a Tivo problem more than the adapter's problem

TiVo Wireless Adapter
By Jim from Winthrop, MA on 06/4/2007.
Pros: Easy To Set Up
Describe Yourself: Tech Savvy
It is only too bad that TiVo has made their systems so they can't use just anyone's type G card. Only had to get this because son got a PlayStation-3 that only supported WPA and not WEP. It says it supports WEP but it doesn't really!
It works!
By Marty from San Francisco, CA on 05/31/2007.
Pros: Durable, Strong Signal, Fine-Tuning, Easy To Set Up
Best Uses: Living Room, Office, Bedroom, Small Rooms, Portable Devices
Describe Yourself: Tech Savvy
Man, I wish I had bought this little gadget sooner. Initially, I connected my Tivo to the home network directly via ethernet cable to the router. However, a new living room configuration necessitated a wireless option. I first (and erroneously) thought that all it would take is a simple USB-based wireless adapter, such as what one could by from D-Link, or Belkin, or any of the other brands. Well, none of them were compatible with the Tivo. So I spent the extra [$] on the official Tivo adapter, and I'm really happy. Why? Because not only was it a seamless setup, the connection to the wireless network is actually *faster* than when it was wired. A 30-minute show used to take about 27 minutes to transfer to my laptop, but now it takes 15 minutes or less. Oh yeah - it looks cool, too. Highly recommend.
Outstanding for Tivo owners...
By Birdman from Peoria, AZ on 05/27/2007.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Set Up, Strong Signal
Cons: none
Best Uses: Office, Living Room, Small Rooms, Bedroom, Far-away rooms
Describe Yourself: Tech Savvy
This adapter gets great reception and "g" compatability. My bottom room at the back of my two-story house can hit the router that is located on the top floor at the front of my house. The other adapters that I have tried could not get through the walls at this distance. I am *very* happy with my purchase and [...] had the best overall price.
Great product!
By ricknroll from new york, ny on 05/23/2007.
Best Uses: Bedroom, Small Rooms, Living Room

Product is great! We get great reception with out a connected phone line. Installed in the bedroom with the wireless connection in another room. No problems thus far.
I would buy this product again and again
By Bill from Gautier, MS on 05/15/2007.
Best Uses: Bedroom
Pros: Easy To Set Up
Cons: None so far
Describe Yourself: Professional
Tried several other products which the TIVO unit would not recognize. TIVO adapter worked just like the tivo setup instructions said. Since the tivo unit was an earlier version it would only recognize wireless adapters that were not available. The TIVO adapter worked.
Only reliable network adapter for TiVo
By David in Fontana from Fontana, CA on 05/14/2007.
Pros: Durable, Easy To Set Up, Strong Signal
Describe Yourself: Gearhead
Best Uses: Office, Small Rooms, Bedroom, Living Room
I've tried other wireless adapters with the TiVo, but they all had trouble. This is the only one that works perfectly and lets you use all the features available.
Excellent Product!
By Peekay from Atlanta on 04/27/2007.
Best Uses: Bedroom
Cons: Connects via 3 foot cord
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Strong Signal
Describe Yourself: Gearhead
I am really happy with this product but I was a little confused by the design how this product would work. From the picture I assumed that you would plug the whole unit into the USB slot in the back of your tivo and then swivel the top half to adjust reception. In reality, you attach the unit to your tivo via a 3 foot long cord. I was hoping to eliminate yet another cord by going wireless so I am a little disappointed in the design. It works great though and took about 1 minute to set up.

Works Great + Easy to Install
By SuperJoe from Dallas, TX on 02/5/2007.
Pros: Strong Signal, Easy To Set Up, Durable

TiVo networking enters the 21st century
By dp from Burlingame, CA on 02/2/2007.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Enables WPA on DVR
I unplugged my old WEP USB 802.11b adapter from my Series2 TiVo, plugged this new one in, and it was automatically recognized and associated with the existing WEP profile. Couldn't have been easier; didn't have to reenter any configuration information, no connectivity problems, it just worked. Now when I'm ready to reconfigure my AP for WPA, my TiVo is too.

By Jimmmy from Twin Cities in MN on 01/17/2007.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Durable, Strong Signal

Works Great!
By Surfstrick from Yalaha, FL on 01/16/2007.
Cons: Alluring to small kids
Best Uses: Living Room, Office, Small Rooms, Bedroom
Pros: Strong Signal, Looks good, Easy To Set Up
This product has worked very well for me. It was simple to set up with my Tivo boxes right out of the box. No problems so far. The only negative is that it looks so neat that my three year old loves to mess with it. Since it has to be placed out in the open to get the best signal possible it's hard to keep her away. Outside of that though, I love it.
Tivo Nic (good)
By Mike from Philadelphia, PA on 01/16/2007.
Pros: Easy To Set Up
I got a new Tivo Series 2 box. I tired several other network devices and it did not like them. I purchased this after looking around for a good price. Plugged it in and it worked 1st time and no problems at all.
Wireless Adapter Great
By Kenjenmo from St. Louis, MO on 01/12/2007.
Pros: Durable, Strong Signal, Easy To Set Up
Best Uses: Living Room
Tivo Wireless USB adapter very easy to install and setup. Was ready to go in a matter of minutes. Very small stylish design makes it nice to conceal the antennae in almost any situation. I definitely recommend this product.
So easy to install!
By Big_C from CT on 01/9/2007.
Best Uses: Bedroom, Portable Devices, Office, Small Rooms, Living Room
Pros: Durable, Strong Signal, Fine-Tuning, Easy To Set Up
I plugged this wireless adapter into my Series 2 TIVO and started the standard setup. It worked right out of the box! My home network popped up on the TV screen and set itself up. Plus is looks nice sitting on my TV stand next to the cable box. The little TIVO icon on the front gives it a little pizazz.
Works like it is supposed to
By Larry from Thousand Oaks, CA on 01/9/2007.
Pros: Easy To Set Up
Best Uses: Small Rooms, Bedroom, Living Room
I held off adding Tivo to my network waiting for WPA security to be added. With this network adapter, I can now enjoy the advantages of having the tivo's on the network without sacrificing security. Works like a charm.
Great Product. Very Easy to use!!!
By Tondouglas from Bettendorf, IA on 01/2/2007.
Best Uses: Bedroom, Living Room
Pros: Easy To Set Up
This product was so easy to use. I plugged it in and it was ready to use. Now there is no need to keep my tivo hooked up to a phone line. Had I known it was so simple I would have bought a wireless adapter a lot sooner.
TiVo Wireless Done Right!
By Don from Evanston IL on 12/29/2006.
Pros: Easy To Set Up
Best Uses: Living Room, Bedroom
Finally, a TiVo-compatible 802.11g adapter that supports real wireless security standards! Before, I had to set up a second wireless network using WEP security, since old adapters did not support WPA in use on my primary wireless network. New WPA support on this adapter now allows me to lock down my networks much more effectively. Setup on TiVo was a no-brainer. Also, the speedup to 802.11g now makes it possible for me to watch a program recorded on another TiVo without having to wait for it to transfer (transfer speed over 802.11b was not fast enough to keep up with playback). Well worth the money, especially if you are adding your TiVo(s) to an existing 802.11g WPA network.
Worked fine
By HarleyMYK from California on 12/29/2006.
Pros: Easy To Set Up
Cons: not the best reception
I used this product in a far end of the house away from the base station. It took many tries to get the signal, but finally worked. Some other units don't work at all there and others work fine, so this unit is about in the middle as far as reception. It also had no problems with 128 bit WEP encryption. I think this had been a problem, but is now resolved. (This is the encryption with 26 character, 0-9, A-F).I am using it with a new (as of 12/06) dual tuner TIVO. I would really recommend it for this usage as the setup is so easy.[...]
Easy setup, stable, and worry free.
By Richard J from Santa Clara, CA on 12/29/2006.
Best Uses: Bedroom, Living Room
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Stable connection
Set up under 10 minutes, and 100% uptime for 3 weeks without a reboot/reset. I bought 2 of these units, to replace the USB-to-Ethernet adapter and Wireless bridge on each of my 2 TIVOs. Since then, better speed, NO loss of connection, and faster transfer times for programs. I wouldn't go back...
Works like a charm
By Michael from Baton Rouge on 12/27/2006.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Strong Signal
Plugged it in and almost set itself up.
Works perfectly, easy to set up
By Non-techie from Charlotte, NC on 12/18/2006.
Pros: Strong Signal, Easy To Set Up
Easy to set up with my Tivo. Great signal- no disruptions of service. Just plug and go!
Works! (tried D-Link DWL-122 earlier)
By DutchRob from Santa Monica, CA on 12/17/2006.
Pros: This one works
I tried a D-Link DWL-122 earlier to connect my TIVO to my home network because it is cheaper than this TIVO brand-named one but that kept losing connection and after a while stopped working altogether. I have nothing against this D-Link one because I think the problem is due to the pickyness of the TIVO box. Anyway, this one works and abtelectronics had it for a lower price than TIVO.
Works great and easy to set up
By RaffMan from Boston, MA on 12/5/2006.
Best Uses: Small Rooms, Bedroom, Living Room, Office
Pros: WPA Security, Durable, Easy To Set Up, Strong Signal
Now that TiVo supports WPA and WPA2 wireless security (TiVo version 8.1 or higher), It finally made sense for me to connect TiVo wirelessly to my network. I have been using this for some time now and it has been working great. The device is well designed and surprisingly well weighted (no worries about falling over or anything.) If you are tired of connecting through your phone line or your phone jack is far from your TiVo this is a great choice. (Please note that you must have a wireless router for this to work) Once you connect your TiVo to your network then you will see a lot more functionality like remote scheduling, Yahoo Weather, Yahoo Traffic, TiVo to Go transfers and more. [...]

By Ken G. from San Jose, CA on 10/16/2006.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Strong Signal
Best Uses: Living Room, Bedroom, Office, Small Rooms
I had to purchase this device because my house is set up with a wireless network. I hated to have to buy another device to make my Tivo work, but the device was a no brainer to set up and it almost instantly grabbed the signal and went to work.

Works well and a breeze to install
By RWB from Atlanta, GA on 08/30/2006.

Even though it's more expensive than other options, the fact that it was a snap to install and that it was guaranteed to work with my Tivo made it worth the extra money.
Solves "No network adapter found" error
By Do9ald from Los Angeles, CA on 07/12/2006.
Pros: Attractive design, Easy To Set Up
My DLINK Wireless B adapters were having trouble staying connected. In the hope that a G network would be more reliable, I bought a pair of these (all continuing to connect to a LinkSys WRTGS54 router) and--sure enough--no more "No adapter found errors"! Transfers are faster, too. The adapters also look nice sitting on my two televisions. They are well made and they work.
