My husband loves it for his bagels. I like the dial to help figure out what darkness/crispness for toast.

For breakfast toast it's OK....Seems even toasting & durability are problems with all toasters!

My first toaster toasted very unevenly. I returned it directly to Breville with a piece of the unevenly toasted bread(they paid freight) and sent a new one. Used it 5 times with the same sad results. I returned this one to ABT, but had to pay return freight. Even though it was over 30 days from the purchase of the first toaster, ABT is issusing a full refund. Pleae note that ABT is not at fault and I will continue to shop here. In reading other reviews, I can't understand how they rave about this toaster, when I received two bummers.

I have had many toasters before but this seems well designed, looks great and uses a digital doneness countdown which is a surprisingly nice feature.

This toaster works great. After a little experimentation with the settings, you can get it just the way you want it. NOTE: some breads/bagels/muffins toast faster than others just by the nature of their moisture content, color, and other variables. Hey, it does what I need once a day, what more can you ask of toaster? It's not the center of my universe as it seems to be some testy-toaster-reviewers.

We bought this toaster maybe 6 mos. ago and it toasts so evenly. We like the feature that allows you to raise the toast to see how far along it is and the other feature that allows one to cancel the toasting cycle if the bread is toasted enough. This is one incredible toaster for the money.

Every day use in a hurry on the way out the door. Great looking. Just upgraded the kitchen to stainless appliances and we use the toaster regularly so it has to stay out on the counter. It's very stylish and works with what we have now. Great job toasting a variety of difference types of bread (bagels/toast). Everything toasts perfectly once you get used to the right settings. Who knew that a toaster wasn't just a toaster. Every thing we put in it comes out perfectly and restaurant quality crisp. We love it. Highly recommend.

Nice looking toaster with a full feature set. The digital read out is a nice touch and quite useful. Toasts bread very evenly and completely as the entire slice fits in the toaster. Outside stays reasonably cool. I looked at all the mainstream brands like Hampton Beach, Oster, Cuisinart, etc. but there were so many negative reviews so I went with this and I am happy I did. I think this probably performs better than most of those department store brands, but at a very reasonable price. Recommended.

Wonderful toaster. Cells expand to fit bagels which have a special setting to just toast one side if you like. Very precise digital timer. Best feature is one where you can push up on a knob to see the toast to judge if it is done without disturbing the toasting cycle. This is one perfect toaster that does not take up too much valuble counter space!

I am enjoying this Breville toaster as an addition to the 4 slice Krups I love. It has deep slots that accomodate large bread slices and heats quickly and fairly evenly. I especially like how it toasts a bagel. The darkness level is a digital readout that appears to not have infinite adjustments between whole numbers but just turning the dial seems to reach any level in between you could want. It does not have a bun warming feature on the top of the unit as my Krups does and I would really miss this if I didn't have a toaster with this feature. It seems very well made and durable.

This product is great! I love the digital counter and numbers on the front, so you know how long it will be until your toast is done. It is very easy to use and stylish looking.

This toaster has some interesting features. For one, it has a red LED that is on whenever the toaster is plugged in; if you want that LED to go out, use a power strip with a switch on it, or unplug the toaster after each use--a slight nuisance (LEDs use very little power, so the cost is probably miniscule). The toaster also has a bright LED panel that allows you to choose (by number, on an LED read-out) what setting you would like to use; thus, accurate settings are exactly repeatable. The bright panel also has a circular 'progress' bar so you can see how much time is left before the toast will be ready. (That 'bright panel' is really bright--you can light up a dark room just by using the toaster!) When the toast pops up, there is a soft chime to tell you it's ready; but the 'chunk' of the toast popping up is louder than the chime! So that 'feature' is a bit amusing. There is an ugly factory industrial smell for the first few uses of the toaster; it goes away after that. I use the toaster mostly for home-made bread, and it works nicely with non-standard slices of bread. I have not used the 'bagel' function yet, but it looks like a handy feature to have (warms the outside of the bagel, toasts only the inner or cut side). I did a lot of research before buying this particular toaster, and although I don't have any other one to compare it to, I'm glad I bought it, and I'm happy with it so far.

This toaster has all the features I've been looking for: fast, even toasting; a way to lift the bread to check progress without stopping the cycle; beautiful and simple design; a bagel setting that works. You can pay twice as much for Breville's fancier toaster with motorized lift, but who needs it when this one does it nicely and has fewer electronic mechanisms to break down?

I spent DAYS trying to research toasters to replace a small school bus (old toaster oven) my wife couldn't part with. Reading every review, report, comparison, and test ever published, I decided on the Breville Ikon 2 Slice Electronic Toaster. When it arrived, I literally stood in front of it with a bag of bread, testing every setting and control option. To say I am pleasantly pleased is an understatement. This toaster works better than advertised, and looks great doing it! We've FINALLY entered the 21st century! What happened to the school bus? It's permanently parked in the basement.

This toaster is not only beautiful, it performs flawlessly. I'm someone who does not like any kind of clutter on my kitchen countertops but this looks like a piece of art. I highly recommend it.

I always bought Cuisinart toasters since they were guaranteed for three years and always broke before then (I live near a repackaging facility where it's easy to replace them). Anyway, Cuisine stopped making the style I liked so I thought I'd try the Breville since I have their electric kettle & like it a lot. The only downside to the toaster is that you first have to set it defrost then use a separate cycle to toast a frozen bagel. It toasts much more evenly & nicely than any other toaster I've owned.

I finally have a toaster where I don't have to bend or smash the large slices in!

I expected perfection from Breville and almost got it. Toast is not quite as cooked on inside as outside. Not a big deal. I use bagel setting and that adjusts just fine. Like the fact you an lift up side to see toasting without disrupting cycle. Love the led timer, and digital readout on how dark to toast. Breville makes great products. Their blender is great. SO is expresso machine.

This is a top rated toaster but while it looks good, performance is lacking. The top part of the bread comes out brown but the bottom does not. Neither does it toast both sides of the bread to the same donness. Think twice before buying.

Nice toaster overall. Like the bagel feature that toasts on one side and warms on the other--no more hard bagels-yeah! Stainless steel a pain to keep clean, but it looks good and works well. Let's see if it lasts. So far, pleased with it.

This is a great toast. I got it for the breakroom of a small company and it is used daily. Bagels, Toast, Pop Tarts, Toaster waffels everything comes out great.

I wanted a toaster that would not overheat or be hot to the touch. I got it.

We use a toaster several times a day so they don't usually last us, which is why we've always bought Cuisinart toasters that come with a 3 year warranty. Cuisinart always wound up giving us a new toaster before the 3 years was up. Anyway, now that I can't get the 2-slice long-slot toaster I prefer I thought I'd try Breville since I have their electric kettle, which I like a lot. The Breville toaster puts Cuisinart's to shame in terms of beautiful, even toasting ability and it's really nice looking, too even though I'm the only person on the planet apparently who doesn't particularly like the look of stainless. Note, however, that in order to toast a frozen bagel it takes two passes - one to defrost it and then a second cycle set to "Bagel" to toast it (the buttons are either/or, not both at the same time). Despite the bit of extra fuss, the bagels come out perfect.

Questioned if I would use the various settings on this toaster...AND I DO. It's great to have the multiple options. Each performs as intended. I highly recommend any Breville product to anyone that enjoys cooking. They are high quality products that look great too.

THIS TOASTER IS SO MUCH FUM TO USE. I HAVE HAD IT FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS. I LOVE THE BAGEL FEATURE WHICH I HAVE HAD ON PREVIOUS TOASTERS - BUT THIS COOKS BAGELS THE BEST BY FAR. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS WONDERFUL UNIT.

Great toaster was all I expected it to be.

I use the Breville Ikon toaster each day with confidence that my toast, whether bagel, English muffin, or whole wheat bread, will come out perfectly. I can always get butter to melt nicely into the toast because of the toaster's alarm that rings when toast is ready. The Breville stainless steel & black looks great with my other kitchen decor. I've had 3 toasters of other brands that failed me. They either broke down after 3 mos,toasted unevenly, or did not pop up! I highly recommend the Breville.

Made in China; prefer to support U.S.A. Toasts side of bread closest to the center partition somewhat darker -- not a big issue, but the manufacturer should improve this. Very convenient and informative controls. Good appearance and materials. Clean-out tray works well, but still need to shake the toaster out over the sink.

I use this toaster everyday. The only minor problem I have noticed so far is that the toast becomes lighter on the second (immediately after the first) toasting of bread when using the same setting as the first toasting. So I am continually changing the setting to darker...then back to starting at "light" the next morning.

Really did not expect toaster to live up to its ratings, but it did. The toast comes out so even you can not even see the pattern of the heating elements. The lift feature without shutting off the unit is great, specially to help learn what settings to use. The count down indicator is also very handy. Would definitely not only recommend it to a friend, but would buy this toaster as a gift.

i have other breville products,and have always been impressed, but this toaster needs to be redone. it doesnt toast evenly. and the adjustments dont help much. its either light or over toasted.

I love the ability to check the progress, without interupting the cooking cycle.

For the money this is a Professional grade toaster. Made of quality material not your everday toaster you buy for around [...]. But the features are great.Great for bagels,toast,english muffins etc.Easy cleaning,even temp.for a more precise toasting.Great looks for the person wanting a upgrade for their kitchen small appliances.I love the plug design and the fact you can defrost and reheat an item. Digtal settings and a neat alarm to tell when the item is done toasting.They also have or make a four slice toater if you need it.Breville has been around for along time and make quality products that will last.

After owning a Breville electric kettle for several years, this product seemed the natural replacement when we needed a new toaster. You can't get a free toaster for opening a bank account any longer so we were forced to purchase this one. Compared to "other" toasters, this one does the same thing but from our prior Breville experience felt the quality would be worth the price. No disappointments yet. [...]
