Breville Ikon 4 Slice Electronic Toaster - Brushed Stainless Steel Finish - CT75XL

Just went off warranty and started blowing fuses. Can't toast four slices of Brownberry or SaraLee without trimming to fit. Replaced toaster with a Black & Decker that works just fine.

I love this toaster in every way, except one! Firstly, the pros are the beautiful classy style it so elegantly displays,the perfectly done toast every time,the great alarm when toast is done, the ease of use, and the ability to check toast " doneness " in the middle of the toasting cycle! The con is that unless you have very small bread slices ( width wise ), you are not able to toast four slices in this " four slice toaster". I buy Sara Lee bread (pretty standard size bread, in my opinion ) and the width of the slots are only off by about 1/8- 1/4". Shame on you, Breville! Don't you think it is important to measure 2 slices of bread side by side before you decide on the most important dimensions of a toaster, especially a 4 slice toaster?! It is not rocket science!! Otherwise, I love this toaster... I just would appreciate it if I spend the extra $ to be able to toast 4 pieces of bread at the same time,then I receive a " 4 slice toaster" that actually does just that!Breville almost made the best toaster! Hey, Breville...if you are reading this,please go fix this " slot width" problem and manufacture this again the right way so that future buyers of your products will be totally happy, instead of partially happy!!!

Toast came out perfect, much better than I expected.

This is a great looking stainless steel toaster. Definately a sleek high end look, easy to read controls. My wife absolutely loves this one! I bought it because our other stainless toaster stopped heating evenly. She was shocked at how nice it was. The top is finished as nice as the sides. Highly recommend. Toasts great from frozen product.

A cosistent toaster. That is all I ask for and I have it with this product.

Lovely design, easy to clean, no fingerprints... but even when you do not have the special "bagel" button depressed... this unit toasts hotter on one side (the inside heating coils). Not so great.

Actually bought this toaster for looks, but ended up loving it. Great toaster.

I use it to toast almost any bread products. I find that the toast sometimes burns alittle on the edges. It does not take up alot of counter space, and is nice to look at. I like the controls on the toaster. This toaster does everything but hand you the toast.

I really like it overall and have no regrets at all. It is sturdy, attractive and roomy enough. I don't particularly like the beep at the end of the toasting esp. if it is morning and others are sleeping, but I am getting used to it. It has 10 levels of toasting, but by level 3 it gets brown enough.

Easy to avoid burnt anything.

The look of this toaster is great and I love that it is built longer rather than square as it takes up much less counter-top space. I found it toasts consistently well. I use it on #7 but I am toasting mostly frozen sprouted grain english muffins. I would think a slice of white bread would be a much lower setting. Got it at ABT after doing comparison shopping on line and ordering was easy with great price [...]

This toaster is a bit large, but works extremely well. The only thing I would change would be the beep it makes when the toast is done; I know it's meant to signal, but with some people sleeping, it might be annoying.

The slim design of the Breville 4-slice toaster was a must-have for me. Whether you have lots of counter space or not, this is a great toaster in a narrow footprint. Mine sits front to back on the counter adjacent to my fridge, and all the controls are easily accessible. I've only had it for a few weeks and have mainly toasted whole grain and artisan breads, all good. The "peek" function is handy, and the bagel function (which toasts the cut side more) is brilliant - which has been perfect also for hamburger rolls and Italian loaves sliced lengthwise. My only con is that you cannot raise the shorter slices like Italian bread or english muffins up high enough to grab without a utensil. So, I keep a wooden skewer in the drawer below.

Great toaster that is good looking too. The heat level should not be more than 4 or you have burnt toast.

This is a great product, it toast evenly and is easy to use. It is great for bread and bagels, and I like the looks of the toaster.

It is bigger than I imagined but it fits in nicely into the kitchen counter, had to move some things around but I like our new arrangement. It is great to have a toaster that is versatile enough to handle different types of breads and bagels and actually does what it is supposed to do. The count down light gives impatient people something judge when it is almost done but ends with a beep so you do not have to stare at it.

The toaster was a little pricey, but I wanted something tasteful and modern looking in my new kitchen. It is both. It works well enough, although one side toasts just slightly darker than the other. I just pick the side I like best and put it face up! It has a beeping noise that goes off when the toast is up - sounds something like a smoke alarm. I wish I could adjust the sound. I like that the toaster is cool to the touch. Another great feature is that you can lift the toast lever and check the progress of the toasting without interrupting the toasting cycle. Overall, I would recommend this toaster.

The brushed stainless steel finish looks great. The high lift lever isn't as high as I had imagined. The toasting seems to be consistent. The beeping sound is very, very annoying....especially in the morning when I am trying to be quiet so I don't wake the rest of the house up.

Never thought much about toasters, but I have to say that now that i have this one - I can see the difference between it and all the other ordinary ones. This is really a great toaster. I wanted a sleeker model and thought this might fill that need. It doesn't because it is as wide as any other toaster but it does what it is suppose to - makes toast, makes 4 at a time, the lift feature is great!! Keep in mind that this makes great toast - so I would use lower settings until you get use to them. The other toasters I always had to use the highest setting, not this baby!!

We have tried three or four toasters lately. We have found most to be poorly made, even the more expensive ones! Some do not have enough room for different types of bread, others don't toast evenly. This model has the length and width to accommodate anything! It is close to perfect as is possible. The only slight negative comment that I could make is that the outer top edges do stay hot for awhile. I feel we have a keeper!

I bought a long-slot 4-slice toaster as I toast bread that doesn't fit into regular short slots. Having researched the small handful of long-slot toasters by reading [@] reviews, the Breville seems to have the least number of dissatified customers.The toaster is a bit long so make sure you have the space. The design is nice - I like the lift and check feature, as well as the visual countdown. I find the 3 or 4 setting gives me lightly toasted bread, but my husband has used higher settings with no problem. Reviews that say bread gets burnt - I think those must be white wonder bread! Whole wheat, less sugary breads toast less quickly. When the toast pops, the spring is quite powerful, as some reviews mentioned, but not so much that the bread flies out. Overall, I'd give this 4.5 out of 5.

Consistant toaster but produces a lot of heat from the top. Sides though are cool to the touch.

Toaster is great.

The setting indicator is great as is the count down indicator. I know if I have time for other prep work, or not. The sides do not get too hot to touch so I can move it under the cabinet as soon as we a done. It is stylish enough to leave out on the counter. The only drawback is that I have to put my glasses on to determine which of the three auxillary buttons is the REHEAT because the label size. The toast does pop up high, but it always stays in the slots. Plus, you can lift the English muffins high enough to grab them without having to poke a fork inside. We thought we would try the four toast size and we are really glad we did. We get our muffins out together, and it handles those really wide slices of rye bread no problem.

Easy to change settings, nice features such as; visual countdown, check without stopping, beeps when done, cancel, bagel setting. Looks nice too.

So far, have only used for english muffins and bagels, and it has been great for those. Absolutely love the ability to check doneness of toast while it is heating. Everything about it works perfectly so far. Even the plug is ingenuous; never much chance of pulling it out by the cord, which is always a no-no with any appliance. Great product.

We have been very satisified with this toaster. Others that we tried and returned, toasted unevenly. Not this one......it does a great job and offers versatility. For instance, bagels and english muffins can be toasted on one side only.

Overpriced for what it ius and what it does.

Had this toaster for 2 months. Does a nice job toasting evenly on both sides. Manufacturer recommends starting with a 4 setting, but 3 works better. The display has a scale that tells you how much longer till the toast is done; each line flashes for 26 seconds. The unit looks good too.

I use this in the kitchen for a family of two. Love the look and performance of this toaster. The digital settings are a little hard to read from a standing positiion, One needs to bend down and look at the settings straight on. It toasts very evenly and consistently. I would highly recommend this toaster.

I haven't found any bread product that can't be toasted in this unit. The long slots allow me to toast any size slice of bread.

Item looks great and has maximum capacity for different toasting needs. Very satisfied with results. Before using always check the temperature control, as it's very easy to accidentally switch during cleaning.

Does what we hoped it would. Even toast, same ever time. Only problem , when toast pops up it pops out of toaster.

I was looking for a toaster that, in addition to allowing for various sizes of bread, had an electronic display that would allow me to monitor progress of the toasting process and help me time my other food items. this was the only one that had this feature. The tips that recommended starting the toasting level at 4 and then fine tuning were correct. I use 3 and 4 depending on the type of bread. Overall, this toaster is a very good unit, but it could be a great unit if only the manufacturer would allow for incremental timer settings. This toaster includes timer settings 1-9, but our family has discovered that items such as toasted bread and frozen waffles really need a 2.5 and 3.5 setting, respectively. If you decide to buy this toaster, my advice would be to stay close by and keep your eye on whatever you're toasting, or you'll end up either resetting the toaster or burning your food. And I can't imagine any food item needing to toast beyond the 4 setting (and it goes up to 9!?), but we've only had this unit for about 1 month, so we've yet to see.

If you want real toast, this toaster is for you. Great for larger thick breads. Browns evenly, and the lift & look feature (does not interupt the toasting cycle) is great if you are toasting a new kind of bread for the first time or not quite sure how dark it will get on a certain # setting. Cancel button is also nice. I gave serious thought about buying a commercial toaster (there are alot of cheap toasters out there) but I couldn't justify $[...], you know...for a TOASTER!! I am very pleased with the quality construction and durability of this Breville. This is MY commercial quality toaster. It will last us a very long time. Very happy to find a super toaster at a great price [...].

STARTED WITH #4 SETTING. BURNED WHEAT TOAST. MADE WHITE TOAST TOO DARK. SET AT #3. WHEAT TOAST OK - WHITE TOAST HARDLY BROWN. TRIED TO SET BETWEEN THESE NUMBERS. DOESN'T WORK. BEST LOOKING TOASTER TRIED OUT OF 6. TOO BAD THE ENGINEERING ISN'T AS GOOD AT KNOWING HOW TO MAKE TOAST. HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH OTHER BREAD PRODUCTS.

Took awhile to get use to it being so long but once I started cutting up Long Italian bread in half to make garlic bread and French bread pizza it was perfect.

Works great & looks sleek.
