Danby 8.8 Cubic Foot White Refrigerator - DFF8803W

We purchased this fridge (2004) for use as a second fridge at the cottage (Parry Sound, Ont.), to be kept in an outdoor shed. It is very attractive, with a reversible door hinge - inner adjustable shelving to accommodate tall items including a clear glass crisper shelf. Also an adjustable shelf included in the freezer w/ice cube trays. Plenty of storage space for bottles, jars, small/large items on the door as well as storage for dairy and a dispenser for cans. It is self-defrosting and overall can accommodate an amazing amount of food for it's 8.8 cu.ft. size. We have this fridge in a small shed outdoors, which can be very warm on hot days - this seems to affect the ability of the fridge to reach max. cold temperatures. Keeping the thermostat set at max. keeps the fridge only cold enough to stop the food from spoiling. Noting this problem immediately, we initially returned the fridge as defective and replaced it with the same model, only to have the same problem. I have searched countless online reviews and have not encountered one complaint about the fridge remaining cold enough - so, this year we are moving the fridge to a larger, better ventilated area to improve the cooling ability of the fridge. Overall, I would recommend this fridge to anyone as a second fridge (beverage or otherwise) or as a main fridge in an apartment, condo, office or cottage or garage as it is well designed, very nice looking, easy to clean and is very user friendly.

I purchased two of these refrigerators and have them placed outside of my little kitchen area - one is in an open closet in the hallway close to the kitchen and one is in my basement. I purchased my second Danby refrigerator from [...] because I wanted a separate freezer compartment that had a separate door and was frost free. I am happiest with this frig. The first Danby which I purchased elsewhere has one main door with a little enclosed freezer section that is not frost free. This frig. works better as a second frig. - I can defrost it without much hassle when necessary by moving everything to the other frig. for a day. I'm very satisfied with both of my Danby refrigerators now!

Fits our small space and serves all our needs

This was purchased to replace a horrible old fridge for my mud room. This one is so far ahead of the one we replaced, self defrost, separate top freezer, smooth door handles and adjustable shelves. Perfect as a back up fridge when there is company, or in a small apartment.
