So far, we really like this vacuum.

Using this vacuum is a breeze because it doesn't take much effort. The moment you turn the vacuum on, and push forward, it carries you in that direction. Great vacuum. Will buy another.

Just purchased this vacuum cleaner and am very happy with it so far. No complaints, and it does exactly what it is supposed to do. For the price, I don't see a better option.

Its a nice lightweight cleaner, i had another vaccum cleaner more expensive then this one and was not as powerful. I'm loving it so far....The only con is the short hose..

I had a bagless Hoover and I always dreaded emptying the vacuum. And, with four cats, I needed to empty it frequently. When it finally, broke, I replaced it with this vaccum. I've had it a week and it's doing an excellent job - particularly for the price. It's a good value.

Wanted a practical item at a good price that would hold up to everyday use. This vacuum fits the bill. It's a tried and true, and has been around a long time, but still gets a job done extremely well. Doesn't have the longest power cord (not as long as on the newer more expensive Hoover's), but other than that, a great model.

Great suction, easy to use tools. I had to have the motor replaced one month after purchase which is not good. However, it was completely covered by Hoover. No problem since.

Easy to use. Less noisier than the one I had before. It glides smoothly across the carpet and has powerful suction. It's has so much power that it will pull itself across. You barely have to push it back and forth! Because of this vac, I actually vacuum more now than I did before! It's a basic, simple vac. That is easy to use and gets the job done.

I just wanted a vacuum cleaner that would do carpets good, and that's what I got. Suction is really good. It seems pretty cheaply made, but if it does the job and lasts for a few years I feel I got my money's worth. Power cord really too short (but I knew that going in), hose pretty short and not really flexible (again, knew that going in). Got what I expected and am happy with it.

Glad that I ordered it.

Vacuum does a very good job

This is a great vacuum for the money. I've had much more expensive ones and if you want something that is inexpensive but cleans carpets well, this one fits the bill. A couple of drawbacks. It has a shorter than normal cord, it's loud and the brushes do not shut off when you're using the attachments. For me, these are minor nuisances. Overall, I recommend it for light to medium vacuuming.

Lightweight and efficient! Better than the last two vacs I've owned (both were much more expensive).

I now own two Hoovers. This one taught me that sometimes less expensive is not only OK but better. Anyone who needs a economical vacuum that does a great job at a reasonable price, don't hesitate to get this one!

I use the vacuum in my home. I like the onboard tools and the very strong suction. It almost feels self propelled the suction is so great. The handle drops low so it is easy to vacuun under tables and high beds.

This [$] wonder vac easily outperforms the $200 one it replaced. It's obvious to me way the leading consumer magazine rated it in their top 10 and just behind the $1200 Kirby.

I do not have this for very long but it seems to be very functional. It was a cinch to assemble! I use it for a small, 2,000 square foot office space. Based on the reviews this vacuum cleaner does exactly what is supposed to do at a very reasonable price! The only thing that I would have liked would have been a rubber (more flexible hose) rather than a rigid plastic one but for the money, you cannot beat it.

Super suction and easy to use. I can't believe all the dust it picked up compared to my former upright vacuum cleaner a Bissell-that cost so much more! Great product - great price!

This vacuum works very well. Cleans thoroughly.

Really easy to use - very maneuverable and has great suction. Only complaint is that the belt breaks easily if you get the power brush caught on any string or other item. However - the belt was also very easy to replace, so I can live with that (and of course, just be more careful too).

It is a good vacuum cleaner for the money. We have carpet throughout our home, and, the Hoover upright is a good choice. It is powerful and easy to use. The "on-board" tools are handy.

Great extra vacuum, I needed a new vacuum for the upstairs. It is great picking up all the little stuff the kids drop. Great suction, gets the baseboards dust free. I would buy this product again.

My previous Hoover finally gave out after 8 years of loyal service. I researched vacuums online and decided to go with the Hoover Tempo. Like many of the online reviews said, it is a little loud. But that doesn't bother me as long as it sucks up the dirt and dog hair...and the Tempo does that with flying colors. I was happy to discover that the Tempo is lighter weight than my previous Hoover. And the Tempo really takes off whereas my old Hoover was a little tough to push. I'm pleasantly surprised that a vacuum that cost so little delivers so much satisfaction.

Very good on carpet, easy to move, store, use. The only problem that I have is that it is hard for me to change the height of the vacuum to clean the tile floor. Price is very easy on the wallet!

Five star vacuum for the price!

Great bargin. [...] This vac replacing a ten year old Hoover Wind Tunnel I paid at least double for back then, and which has served me well. The online reviews of the Tempo were so good I decided to order it. When it arrived I was surprised to find it the same exact amps and body as my 10 year old wind tunnel except slightly wider base and shorter cord (by a few feet which leaves me short on my stairs). Also a few new features (bag-full indicator) and its so powerful that I swear this thing has auto-drive pulling me forward! Definitely recommend to others.

This vacuum is a great product. It is lightweight, easy to manuever and has a lot of suction. The only thing I would offer for improvement is to have the power cord exiting the machine at the top instead of the bottom for access that is easier on the back when reaching for it. But, overall, I am very impressed as I do cleaning for a business and am always looking for great products.

Bought it for my mpom and she loves it.

Love the machine - good product at a great price. Just a couple of annoyances: The front of the vacuum is bigger across than I'm used to and doesn't fit in the same closet space as the old one. The power cord wraps on the back of the machine over the stowed accessories, which is a poor design.

Haven't had it that long but seems to be a good vacumm cleaner for a really good price!

Vacuum assembled quickly and easily with minimum of tools or effort. Bag already in place was a nice feature. Wish more bags had come with the product. Otherwise, happy with the amount of power and suction. It does a good job and a very good job for the price!

Hose is a little on the short side.

Low cost, powerful suction

This vacuum replaced a more expensive Electrolux, and so far, it has performed well. The cord is shorter than I would like, but the cleaning is top notch. We have 3 cats and picking up the hair is a breeze. Feel this cleans as good, if not better than my old Electrolux.

The attachments are always at hand and easy to use. The only complaint I have is that it leaves behind lint balls it makes. However, since it picks up way more than any other vacuum I've ever owned, I guess this is a small detail to complain about.

Lighter to use than Eureka.

I vacuum 2-3 times a week, have 2 small children and a cat. This is a great inexpensive vacuum. I tried a more expensive vacuum without a bag and it did not pick up dirt this well.

For wall to wall carpet, good suction and clean feeling results. Not very generous cord nor user-friendly storage of cord.

This thing is as loud as a jet engine and just about as powerful. I don't view vacs as status symbols and they all break down eventually so who wants to spend hundreds of dollars? When I vacuum I'm not expecting to nap. For[$] this beast will suck dirt, debris and dog hair out of your carpets and off your floors. It will also wake the neighbors. It's bulky and the hose, tools, and cord storage won't win any design awards. But it's cheap and it gets the job done.

I paid an arm and a leg for my last vacuum (Eureka bagless) it was horrible! Compared to that one, this new Hoover is a dream. It's lightweight for the stairs, the attachments are handy (and actually stay on while vacuuming!)and it has pretty good suction for a low end priced vacuum. Not sure how it does on hardwood, as I only have carpet. Not the quietest vacuum...but then again what vacuum is quiet?

This is quite a vacuum especially considering the price. If it had an edging feature I would have given it perfect marks. I bought one for work and home. Very pleased with the job it does on tile and hardwood.

Definitely a good brand vacuum for the price. This is the first upright I've ever owned and it can be a bit cumbersome but overall I am happy with the product.

This vac out cleans many of the more expensive machines. It is the best for the money out there! I have owned it over a year and it has more than met my expectations.

I'm in college and have used my fair share of Vacuums, from expensive Self Propelled Wind Tunnels to $20 [...]ones. This is not only the best that I've seen, but the price is right. The belt breaks easily and doesn't come with a spare, so order up.

For what it cost it worked well (had too short of an accessory hose though) but it only lasted 1.5 years before the motor burned out (and boy does that stink)

I've had a Rainbow for 23 years and never thought I would get rid of it, until I bought this Hoover. It does unbelievable cleaning on carpets! So very glad I bought this product...and for the money, you can't go wrong!

Hoover Bagged Tempo Replaces my wind tunnel that is a nusance to empty the hair out of. Fine dust NEVER escapes the bag and changing the bag means the dirt is GONE. Hose is too short to be easy to use. POWERFULL suction. I have 3 dogs and 4 cats and wanted the hair out of the house at a reasonable price but light enough to cary up and down the stairs. Good unit.

I bought this because it was rated sixth overall in Consumer Reports vacuum test! And it only costs [$] Excellent vacuum. Works great on carpet. Good at picking up pet hair. Tools suction is not the strongest. It works fine on hard floors, but you can't turn the brush off so it can blow dust or dirt around. It has a 25ft power cord, which I guess is considered short, but plenty long for my place. Buy it!

part of the hose sucked in on its self while using the wand to clean the car seats. although it looks somewhat crushed the vacuum still works well. [...]shipping was free. i could not find any local stores that carried this product and am very happy that i only had to go 3 days without a vacuum.

Vacuum is great for everyday use.

This product is awesome for the money spent. We had purchased an expensive rainbow model and traded our old tempo in and after a short while we missed the Tempo. We just ordered another one and couldn't be happier. The tempo has great suction power and is baggged, we liked the bagged better than the non bagged cleaners. This is a great vacuum for the money. Simple operation for the kids to run!

I am pleased with this vaccum cleaner.

It's not pretty, but it gets the job done much better than my Oreck ever did. It does have odd cord storage, but that doesn't bother me. It works well, though the side exhaust can blow dust bunnies around before you can capture them! Overall, good product.

I read reviews that said this vacuum was noisy. Guess it's relative. Compared to my old unit, this thing's a house whisperer. Pulls up pet hair well, great suction, not too heavy, cheap. Go for it.

Simply put - Consumer magazine that everyone knows about that will NOT advertise - ranks this puppy as a great buy. Problem I have not experienced (too soon to say) is that Hoover has some reliability issues. I am a bachelor and as often as I anticipate using this baby - I hope that will not be an issue...

great value, excellent customer service, fast shipping, and on time, only sugestion is that hoover should have made the hose for the above floor cleaning longer, it is too short and difficult to manuever. i hear there is a suplemental hose avaiable somewhere, but it should be included for a few bucks more right off the bat.

great on carpets excellent suction

I wish I would have know there was a dirt finder option I would have gotten that model, but I didn't know until I read the manual. Also the hose is soooo short I wish one of the attachments was a flex hose B/c the two they provide are straight so it's still hard to get to alot of places, also while I was cleaning under a chair I knocked off the belt and almost cried. I thought I broke my new vacuum cleaner. Other than that I guess its ok its quieter than my bissell and when I vacuum there isn't dust flying allover the house (my main concern the Bissell spit dust all over while I cleaned) I've filled two bags in two weeks, but I think the alert may come on prematurely. Overall good vacuum for the price I have noticed lest dust on my stupid black furniture (a huge mistake in and of itself)

Good cheap vacuum, cord hard to control, and notsure when bag needs changing

This vacuum works very well. I don't actually have a pet, but I have long hair and that often causes a problem with other vacuum cleaners. The last one I had didn't last 2 months. This one doesn't seem to have a problem sucking up the hair I shed and I think it will last.

Really good deal. Bought this vacuum after I saw it listed as a "best buy" in Consumer Reports. Good suction, maybe a little too good as it will eat a rug if I forget to change the height after cleaning bare floors or low pile carpet. I mostly use it as a basic upright vac., and use my little cannister vac. for jobs that require attachments. The Hoover's attachment hose is kind of short, and the whole attachment system seems kind of cheap and badly designed. In addition, some of the attachments do not clip securely to the housing when not in use. All of this is ok with me however, since I bought it to clean floors and rugs, not furniture or drapery. If you use attachments heavily, you may want to try it in a store first to see if it will fit your needs.

does a great job and simple to use

WOW! I needed a new vacuum and coincidentally saw a consumer reports segment on the Today show 3 weeks ago. It rated this vacuum right up there with the $300 models, but at a cost of [$]. I bought this for my home carpet and I love it! Fantastic suction, the accessories are located on the vacuum and it gets right up close to the base boards. Worked great on the kitchen wood flooring, too. You can't go wrong with the price. Wish it had a longer cord but not an issue. I bought another for my second home.

This was actually a birthday gift for my niece. She called to say she loves it and that it picks up all the dog hair very well. She has a 2-year-old boy, so she needs to vacuum several times a week. She's very happy with the product.

Bought based upon Consumers Report. Wanted it mainly for picking up pet hair from carpeting. We have 4 other brand name vacuums but this work very well. An added feature is the powerful suction when using the extention hose. Works far better than our other Hoover. They should have included a tool for getting into small thin areas for use with the hose. It's available as an extra, but charge more and inculude it.

It has great suction and onboard attachments but its very loud.

This vacuum cleaner is better than our old $200 one. It is lighter, has better suction and is very easy to push. The only minor issue is the cord is slightly shorter than the more expensive one. But you can buy 3 of these for the price of the expensive one. This is definately a better value.

We wanted a small upright vac to supplement our regular canister vac that was in for service. This model was recommended by Consumer Reports, and meets our needs.

This is the best inexpensive vacuum I have ever owned. My carpet literally changed color the first time I vacuumed with it. I have two large dogs and this vacuum is fully capable of cleaning up all of their hair and dander. It is fairly noisy, but the pros definitely outweigh the cons for this vacuum. I would (and already have) recommend this vacuum to anyone.

great for around the house and when you need attachments for difficult areas

As most everyone else, I use my vacuum to clean the rugs. Nothing got by this Hoover Upright! It has 5 different pile settings, one of them for hardwood, vinyl, or linoleum floors. For the price, I couldn't have found a better bargain for an upright Hoover! Need a new vacuum for under $100? This is it, and [...] has it at the right price! Awesome!

We have two dogs, three birds, two cats and a lot of activity at our house. This vacuum is quick and efficient, picks up pet hair great and is easy to move around. The attachment hose, however, would be better if it stretched farther. Otherwise, just what we were looking for.

After researching vacuums online for a week, I chose this Hoover Tempo for its low price and good reviews. I have been well-rewarded for my effort. The Hoover Tempo is EXCELLENT! I live in a two-bedroom, 1200 sq foot apartment that is fully carpeted. This vacuum is PERFECT for the space. It raised the pile on carpeting that I've lived on for over 4 years. VERY powerful suction and even using the attachments, little of its ability is lost. It is heavier than my old Dirt Devil but I don't mind - it works 100 times better! One thing that did surprise me was that when I turned it on, the darned thing has such powerful suction, it took off right out of my hand! LOL

WOW! What a great little vacuum. I wasn't expecting much from this vacuum considering the price, but after reading all the reviews I decided to give it a try. And I'm glad I did. It's a nice size vacuum. Not too big. Which is nice when you have a small house. However, for it's size, it is POWERFUL. You can actually see the crumbs moving toward the vacuum from 6" away. I am very impressed. Got dog hair, cat hair, no problem with this vacuum. It's amazing. It's not fancy and it is quite a loud vacuum, but for the price it's unbeatable. I've actaully paid 4X the amount in the past for vacuums and they were not as effective as this little hoover. Highly Recommended!!!

great suction

Very ergonomic, powerful, lightweight and manuverable. The light is nice and bright.With an extra step on the release lever you can lay the vacume down completely to vacuum way under your bed or other low furniture. I strongly recomend purchasing the 20' extension hose, mo.#(43434042). It's a much more heavy-duty hose which stretches far enough to vacuum the blinds and furniture in a small room without having to pull the vacuum around with you. Also this vacuum does a pretty good job getting close to edges and corners. I've actually enjoyed cleaning lately!

Can't beat this product for the cost. Lightweight with good suction. Hand tools are easy to use. It is a little noisy, but not enough to detract from the value. I don't expect it to last for 20 years, but I highly recommended if you need a lightweight vacuum with good suction.

The Tempo is a light and and easy to push vacuum that has great suction. It works very well on carpet and works fairly on bare floor because there is no separate switch to turn off the beater brush. At such a low price, it's a great vacuum.

All in all, for the money this product gives a lot of bang for your buck. Was recommended by family friends and we are so glad we took their advise. Could not believe the suction power on this vac. Great purchase.

Great product for the money. Easy to assemble. Terrific suction. The suction is so strong that it almost move be itself. If you have wall to wall carpeting and kids this is a great product. My wife is hard to please and the ultimate skeptic... this vacuum cleaner has won her over. She simply refused to vacuum any more with our Dirt Devil. She also had me send my fist purchase back to the store. So I did my home work and purchased this guy. She is now smiling and cleaning carpets and floors once again. As a basic vacuum this gets the job done. The attachments are of poor quality and do ont stick on the hose very well which is the only problem I have noticed so far. But most attachments at this price range are not going to be t good and we do not often use them.

Works like a charm, and the price is unbeatable. I wouldn't hesitate to order another one. After owning a bagless, I can say I prefer this model with the bag, easier to clean up after, and it's all contained.

I've only used it on carpeting. The suction seems very good, but the tools aren't all that useful because of the short hose.

Good power for a low-end product... power cord design is not too well thought out... it is quite noisy. But, it gets the job done. Bang for the buck.

Great suction. I am very impressed with this vacuum. I had done a lot of research before I purchased this vacuum and it has lived up to my expectations. The only complaint that I have is that it has a short attachment hose, though an extension hose can be purchased separately.

I bought this sight unseen, shopping on line and trusting consumer reports (which like it, in the low price range machines) and customer reviews. While the suction seems strong -- I lack animal hair or any such mess to really be able to test it out, and its not all THAT heavy for a vacuum, you should be warned that the machine is VERY VERY loud. Also the on off switch is not placed in the usual (nor in a more convenient spot -- i.e., it's not on the handle but down along the side around knee level so that you need to search for it and then you're forced to lean over to turn it on and off -- rather than being able to flip a switch on the handle with your thumb like with every upright I've ever had before). I bought it in part because of the claims to be dust free but I was still smelling some and sneezing a little, although no where near as much as with my old machine. Also, while it has extension bits -- which made me think that I could use it to dust blinds and such, the suction cord is so short and flimsy that its pretty much useless in that regard unless the mess is VERY close to the vacuum -- so no getting at hard to reach or high up dirt. Don't make my mistake, DO NOT think that this will double as a canister. It won't. The electric cord however is more than ample for me to be able vacuum 1/2 a room without having to replug it. Overall it seems to be a pretty good if limited in usefulness upright, and its fairly inexpensive.

Have used the new Hoover vacuum for 3 weeks. Product is very sturdy and well built. I was surprised at how well it cleaned and suctioned. My air was so clean and carpet spotless. A little heavier than my Hoover Windtunnel cannister. I love both. Power cord is good length,but would've liked an additional 2-3 feet. Great on my carpet and hardwood/bare floors.

Great for picking up pet hair. Wish it were quieter and had a longer cord.

Read about it in Consumer Reports and bought it as a second vacuum. Good value!

I bought this vacuum for my mother after seeing how well rated it was on consumer reports. She needed something powerful yet light weight after having surgery. She loved it so much I bought one for myself a few weeks later. The powerful suction is unbelievable. It picks up all the pet hair and is so easy to use on the stairs because of where you hold it. I would recommend this to anyone and for thep rice you can't beat it. I wish I would have bought this before I purchased a much more expensive vaccum!

These days, everything is disposable. I didn't want to spend a whole lot of money on something that I would probably be replacing in a few years. I looked at Consumer Reports and my budget and this vaccum fit the bill. And to my delight the Consumer Reports review was on the money. It has powerful suction, moves with ease, easy to change the bag/belts, easy to use tools, wide path, even easy to assemble--I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase.

Good price for a powerful vacuum.

I like the end result of using this vaccuum, but the cord is not retractable and gets in the way. The vaccuum is heavy and the attachments aren't good for reaching into high places.

Needs longer cord. Recline pedal should be on the right not left side. Plug needs clip attachment to clip onto the cord.

Used this vac for the first time for carpet in a 800 sq ft condo. After the first use the bag was already full. Last vac was not doing its' job very good. The only thing it needs is a longer cord.

So far so good. I have used it a few times and it picks up dirt etc, really well. It has really good suction, so I hope it doesn't lose it! Great price for a good vaccuum. It also has good ratings on [...] so I went with it!

Inexpensive but a good quality product

I never realized how much dog hair my old vacuum left in my carpet until I purchased the Hoover U5140 Vacuum. This vacuum is wonderful on picking up dog hair.

Extremely powerful. Love the strong suction. Lightweight. Does stairs very well and along baseboard.

This product is excellent on carpet and satisfactory on hard floors. I would definitely buy it again. The only thing I dislike is that it is noisy.

This vacuum was easy on my back,just as I had hoped. It seems to propel itself, and only takes moderate effort for the back stroke. It cleaned the family room carpet and the kitchen laminate flooring in record time. It did a great job getting those tight places under the couch cushions clean, and the attachments are easy to use. The suction is strong, so be careful doing throw rugs or it will "eat" them.

Had a very expensive uprigtht that was on it's last leg and this Hoover is better that unit was when it was new. It cleans like a professional unit but is a little on the loud side but not by much. Very tolerable. I like the easy access to the accerssory attachments and think it is a best buy for the money. I would buy it again and give it as gifts for sure.

The vacuum pulls you as you clean the carpet and so it feels powerful and picks up dust great.

The suction is as good as our [$] self propelled Hoover, which wasn't very reliable because of too many bells and whistles. This new vac rolls easily, and has great suction. We think it works as good as the [$] unit.

Consumer Reports rated this the top vacuum under $100. They were right! We actually replaced our main living area vacuum cleaner (which was much more expensive) with this one. Our old vacuum cleaner is now on the upper, less used, floor of our home. I would highly encourage you to purchase this vacuum if you're looking to purchase one.

This vacuum was recommended by Consumer Reports and has lived up to its reputation. We use it on tile/wood floors and throw rugs, and the results are great. Doesn't blow dust/dirt around that you are trying to pick up, vacuums well on both surfaces. The fact that it is noisy is overshadowed by its efficiency. Great buy!

I clean houses for a living and need a good vacuum to get my work done. This vacuum does what it is supposed to do. The only problem for me is that after working for hours, loading the vacuum back into my car is difficult because of its weight.

I tried to find this vacuum in a store but couldn't. It was rated high in Consumer Reports, so I really wanted this vacuum.

This vacuum, Hoover U5140-900, is just a great vacuum for a great price. It does all I would expect a vacuum to do as well, if not better, than any I have owned and some cost much more.

I bought this model because I needed a replacement for a relatively new 7.0 amp Eureka upright that just couldn't handle my dense carpet. Consumers Report rated this one very highly on carpet cleaning. I was amazed at how powerful both the brush action and suction were. I swear, in one cleaning my carpet was cleaner than it has been in years. The dust smell (noticed when I got down on the floor and sniffed closely) was gone. When I checked to see what the bag contained, I was blown away to see both dust and mostly carpet fibers. The vacuum had ripped the top layer of fibers out of my carpet. The next few vacuuming were mostly just dust (same brush height). The vacuum is very noisy, and difficult to handle because it has a mind of it's own and tends to pull it's self forward. Also, I think it is a poor substitute for a canister vacuum. It has plenty of suction, but is awkward to use, and has only a short hose that compresses due to the powerful suction. The price is amazing! This is the best vacuum I have ever owned or used....period!

Used the vacuum in a new move in. Was surprised at the amount of dirt it removed from clean appearing carpets. Powerful suction, lightweight. Drawback was brushes always spin, only good for carpets, didn't do well on floors and don't get it anywhere near something soft like a carpet pad! Bought it because of price and reports.

This vacuum has a lot of power for the price. I previously had a bagless vacuum with the filter and the bag together - this was a messy job to empty them - I like that the bag and filter are seperate. The tool for the stairs worked excellent. I was looking for a relatively inexpensive model that still had power and onboard tools and this one provides that.

I bought this for our lake cabin, but ended up getting another for our home since it works so well. It has really good suction and works great on pet hair. The features are pretty basic, but it has everything I wanted. The only issue I have with it is that the brush continues to rotate when I use the hose.

It's a fine unit for my purposes and as consumer reports noted from their tests it actually leaves the air cleaner than it was before ratjher than filling it w/a bunch of dust as previous models i've had did. A little loud and heavy and hard topush but for the price(!)

The vacuum is very powerful and performs very well on carpets and adequately on hardwood. The hose is poorly constructed and collapses when vacuuming. The attachments fall off as they don't fit well. I purchased this vacuum to replace an old worn-out vacuum I'd had for several years. This particular vacuum received a high recommendation in a "leading consumer magazine" (that issues reports...that's all I'm gonna say!) which is mainly why I decided to buy it, and because I couldn't afford to spend much on a new vacuum. Although it is definitely not the most impressive vacuum I've ever used, it does do an excellent job on carpet, and overall works extremely well. It's fairly light-weight, and though it may not have a whole bunch of extra features, it does well at what a vacuum should. For the price, you simply can't beat it!

It seems to clean better than any vaccum we have ever used and it cost less than any vacuum cleaner we ever purchased.

This machine has not clogged nor put dirt back onto my carpets; my last vacuum, a Dirt Devil, did both--way too often. The Tempo also has more than enough suction to pick up the hair of my three cats as well as anything else that happens to be on the floor. All this and the Tempo costs only [$]? There are modern days miracles!

I love this vacuum!!! It has powerful sucking power. I have thick carpet in my home and it performs excellent. It almost propels itself. It also leaves those fresh vacuum lines in the carpet. My carpet looks like when I first bought the home...I recommend this to anyone on a budget and not on a budget. Its a great vacuum.

I use this vacuum to clean my carpets that three dogs and one cat use as beds! I have pet hair everywhere but this vacuum has very strong suction and picks up everything. My last vacuum was a much more costly Kenmore and it didn't have half the suction of this Hoover. I am so glad I listened to reviews and purchased this great vacuum.

A great vacuum for the price! Does not say it is self-propelled but it does operate that way- easy to maneuver. With the exception of the short cord we are very happy with this vacuum!

I don't like so much plastic in this product. Eventually, its going to break. But, in this day and age it is almost impossible to minimize this material unless you pay much more for more metal in the vacuum. For the money, its a great buy.

Like many others, I purchased this vacuum after doing a lot of research and reading many reviews. While reading about different vacuum types I almost got sucked in (no pun intended)into a [$]one with tons of bells and whistles and then my brain came back and I thought, "wait a minute-you HATE to vacuum-who cares what bells and whistles are on all the others?!" So needless to say, I decided to purchase the Hoover and save myself over [$] bucks! [...]. Assembling it was easy-one screw driver needed is all. Performance-wise I couldn't ask for more-the suction is great, it feels like it almost self-propels so I don't have to push as hard, and the light is an added bonus. I didn't think it was any louder than any other vacuum I have ever owned. I can see why some have issues with the cord length-I live in a small condo and I changed outlets 3 times-didn't bother me, but maybe I would feel different if I had larger space to cover. Did the stairs just fine. I do have one negative comment and that the space available to "lock in" the cord doesn't seem to want to hold it in place, thus allowing the cord to drop to the bottom-I will have to figure this out, but all told, I thought it was an awesome deal for the price and would definitely recommend!

You can pay more but you won't get any better vacuum. This is a heavy duty machine. It is no toy. It's heavy. The small attachments fall off easily. The highest setting on the head still seems to be a little low. Burned up the first belt after only an hour of service when I sucked up a sock. Got 2 new belts for just over [...]

Ordinarily, I wouldn't get so excited about a vacuum cleaner, but after what turned out to be 3 years of mediocre cleaning from my old vacuum, this new Hoover is great! Lots of suction power, great edge cleaner, light-weight, and cleans the cat hair up like crazy! I did my homework [@] first, and they were right about this machine being a "Best Buy"!

A very good product. It is efficient with strong suction. You only need to pass once and cleans well. Good price for the features. On the downside the hoses could be longer.

I think for the money you spend, this is a great vacume. I have not had it for that long, but so far it works well. It is a little big and ugly, but as long as you don't plan on using it as table decoration, who cares.
