A 24-7 Nightmare of Noises

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Single loud cracks and thunks around the clock, even when it's not running. Random loud knocking when it is running, and not just when it starts. Sometimes when it stops, the refrigerator shakes and rattles. Sounds from the unit dominate a very large apartment. Nothing can be done because noise is not an acceptable complaint. This unit will be replaced at my expense in less than one year.

Love the bottom mount freezer

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

We needed to replace our primary refridgerator in our home. After researching we took a chance on the Amana bottom mount freezer. Initially when it arrived it made a lot of noise (popping/clicking/slurping) while cooling down but it stopped after the first 24 hours. It's mentioned in the manual that it'll have some "contraction" noises as it cools down but we were afraid they would last. They haven't and we are very satisfied with the purchase.

Good Refrigerator for the price

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I bought this unit for my office and I am very happy with it. I like having the freezer on the bottom, since it is not used as much - the fridge is at eye level now. I like the utility of it. Shelves are adjustable, there is room for large soda bottles in the door, and there is lots of drawers.

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I bought this online without seeing it in person based on Consumer Reports, and I am extremely happy with it. It has greatly enhanced the apprearance of my kitchen in addition to providing more than enough space for storage. And no more getting on my knees to find refirgerator items as I had to do with my old top freezer model. I find the bottom freezer convenient and spacious . Overall, wonderful design, quiet, and very efficient.
