Haven't tried this for vegetables yet, but this makes grating cheese effortless! The elongated body means more surface to get the job done quickly. I love how the feet hold it well above the counter so that you don't feel like it's bogging down...lots of room for the cheese to rest as its grated. I can't wait to buy the medium and fine graters. Wish I knew about the quality of Rosle a long time ago!

My first non box type shredder,it is bigger and lays flat on non skid feet so you can push down and across much easier..
This is a must in any kitchen, you won't believe how fast it works till you try it. Carrots, potatoes, kohlrabi(very tough), squash, all go right through.
Am ordering the medium one also.

Purchased after review in Cook's Illustrated. It is pricey for a grater but after having four different types in various kitchens and galleys...they all will be replaced with this one. I have Microplane for zesting and an "el-cheapo" for parmesan cheese but this one (Rosle) is my go-to grater. Well worth the wait and the money paid for it!!!
