  • Powerful neodymium magnets for detailed sound
  • Sweat- and water-resistant
  • Extremely rugged earphones and cable
  • Accessories: ear adapter set, cable clip and carrying case

Feature Details:

  • Transducer principle
Two transducer principles have become established for the conversion of electric energy into mechanical energy: electrodynamic and electrostatic transducers, whereby the latter is only to be found in audiophile systems, due to their relatively high manufacturing costs. Electrodynamic transducers basically consist of a ring-shaped permanent magnet and an oscillation coil, which is fixed to the receiver diaphragm. When an audio-frequency alternating current is passed through the oscillation coil, it is caused to vibrate in accordance with the audio-frequency alternating current, thus causing the diaphragm to vibrate in the same way.
  • Frequency response
The frequency response of a microphone is given within the limits defined by the manufacturer. In studio condenser microphones it is generally within the range of between 20 Hz and 20 kHz.
  • Impedance
Impedance expresses the AC resistance of a microphone or a set of headphones. It is dependent on frequency and is given at 1 kHz as the so-called nominal impedance. Impedance is measured in ohms. In recent years, an industrial standard has developed, setting the impedance of headphones at 50 or 600 ohms. Sennheiser headphones are manufactured according to this standard, thus practically ruling out connection problems. With microphones, the input impedance of the following microphone amplifier should have at least three times the value of the nominal impedance, in order to prevent it from unnecessarily attenuating the microphone signal.
  • Ear coupling
A distinction is made between headphones which are worn on the external ear (supra-aural) and those which surround the ear (circumaural). Open headphones have foam ear pads that rest on the ears or ring pads that surround the ears. Closed headphones, on the other hand, nearly always have circumaural ear pads.

These headphones are not designed to produce wonderful sound. They are ok in that department. What they are excellent for is ok sound WHILE running or doing other up and down activites. Remarkably they stay in place and don't fall out when your face and ears become sweaty.
Pros: Durable, Comfortable, Lightweight
Best Uses: Running
Cons: Too Much Ambient Noise, Poor Sound

Great for exercise, sound not so hot

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
These earbuds are really good for exercising. One of my ears is not as deep as the other, so with conventional earbuds, one would always fall out. With these, they have stayed in through ALL exercise. However, the one ear is definitely not as snug as the other, leading to louder volumes in the other ear. I bought these for running and they have worked really good, I never have to adjust them. I have gone through at least 3 other pairs. They are pricey and the sound quality is not that great, something I'm not too concerned about when running. But if you need something for running, and all else has failed, give these a try.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Highly Compatible, Lightweight, Stay in Ear
Cons: Poor Sound
Best Uses: Running

I have owned 4 sets of headphones for my iPod and these are hands down the best for running or working out. I also have the new Bose TriPort in-ear headphones which have better sound quality, but kept falling out of my ear when I would exercise. If you have this problem, the Sennheiser MX-75 Sports are for you!

Great headphones for walking/running!

These headphones are really good. They stay in my ears better than any in-ear style headphones I've tried for walking/running. They have much better sound than the in-ear headphones that came with my iRiver MP3 player which were also Sennheiser but not as high quality as the MX 75 Sport. They were definitely worth the price - they have eliminated my need to continue to search for the right in-ear headphone...these are the ones!

They can get a little bit uncomfortable after awhile. For the most party, however, they're really great--they're very portable, aside from a slight tendency to tangle, and the sound quality is wonderful--the first time I tried them on I was amazed, because it sounded like the music was in my head.
