I purchased an NW-E005 for myself and loved it. My wife soon borrowed it and had to have one for herself, so she decided on the NW-E003 PINK! My best friend borrowed mine and I almost didn't get it back, so I purchased a third unit for her birthday!! She also prefered the NW-E003 PINK. The Sony is small and easy to use. The menus and display are simply awesome. The battery life and charge time for these Sony units is unbelievable. The only downside is the software and it could stand some improvements, but still simple to use.

I'm a 50s guy who has long train commute, not a kid who needs the latest and greatest technical marvel. I am not spending [$] for an iPod !The Sony Walkman MP3 player with 1GB storage AND an FM tuner with great sound is the perfect thing in its price range. I can live with "only" 400 or 500 tunes and FM as well, or my recorded German language lessons for my long rail commute.This thing charges on your USB just like a Memory Stick, and lasts a long time between charges.The only drawback is when purchasing and using content from Sony Connect's online store (software interface which comes with Walkman), you can register only up to 5 devices (including your PC) with Sony for permission to play your purchased music. You can also upload your other files to the Walkman. Besides the "permission" angle, I don't care for the software's lack of a built-in CD label maker so that you can duplicate cover and liner notes just like big box store CD purchases.I also don't like the plastic construction. However, unless you plan on stepping on the unit it seems to be pretty strongly made. [...] For the moderate price, I don't think you can beat this unit that has great sound, a sensitive crisp sounding FM tuner, that anyone can master and enjoy.Sure you can spend a few hundred dollars for an iPod that will play 20 gazillion tracks, but what's the point unless you are going to some deserted island like one of the character's on ABC's LOST series.

The player is wonderful. The sound quality is wonderful. I love that it is the size of a flashdrive. The only thing I don't like is the SonicSound software that comes with it. It is not organized well.

it's a sony!!! lots a features in a tiny box. the sound is what you expect from a sony and the display is awsome. sony's connect store where you download music is easy to use also.

My first one was a Christmas disappointment for my daughter. The unit simply did not turn on/charge. It was DEAD! While my initial attempt at returning the unit to [...] was a miscue, all was remedied. After contacting [...] via chat, my customer service rep talked me through the process and fixed everything. The replacement arrived quickly and performs flawlessly. The software is aweful. No other way to put it! The "screen" is ingenious for a USB player.
