Only one complaint
My only complaint is the plastic tab that goes over the vent on the facia falls off constantly. Bad design.

We have had one of these hoods for years. The alcoves --the hollow areas on either side of the blower up above the filters-- are impossible to keep clean. Also, oil and grease collects in the wells at the bottom of the filters, and the metal is sharp there, so it is easy to cut your fingers when wiping out those wells. A better design would eliminate nooks and crannies to make it as easy as possible to keep clean. The sliding on/off switch for lights is plastic and with repetitive use will one day snap, and it's expensive and a pain to repair, requiring complete disassembly of the unit and the purchase of an entire assembly, not just the broken part. That front panel should simply snap out to make such a repair, but it doesn't. The fan is relatively noisy when vented out the rear and running at or near top speed. It doesn't do a great job removing smoke such as when grilling a steak at a fairly high heat. The two small bulbs are in the front, and so the rear of the cooktop is not well lit. We bought the unit because of its size (33") but then Broan discontinued that size in the lineup.

Does not remove smoke

Comments about Broan 41000 Series 36" Wall Hood - Bisque Finish:
Bought this unit as our first unit in our home to assist in eliminating the smoke from cooking. It does not work even well and my kitchen fills with smoke and odor still... It was easy to install and looks great just does not work good at all... very disappointed
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Fair. Get something a little better

Weak fan. A little noisy. Not easy to install. Bottom of the line. Spend a little more and get something that works much better.
Good, inexpensive range hood
For a non-ducted fan, it does a pretty good job of exhausting. I usually need to have it on high since the low speed is really too low to do much since the air is barely moving. Even on high, it is a pretty quiet fan.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

this is the second one I have had over the years and they always do a great job

A basic stove hood for a rental unit. Met all expectations at a very reasonable price point. Will definitely consider the brand again in the future.
Looks Very Nice!

Nice, modern sleek look over my cook top. Sound is quieter than most when exhaust fan is on. Installed with a friend in 5 minutes. Great product for the price I found for it.

Quiet range hood
I bought this new range hood to replace an existing Broan of the same model. What a difference 20 years makes with the quality. This new one is so quiet compared to the old one. The old one was still working fine. We just needed a new color to match the new appliances.
Easy to install, and looks great

This is my second hood vent. It's the only one that fits in the space correctly. Looks great and is easy to install.
HARD TO FIND ITEM
from San Francisco, CA, USA
When I replaced my 30+ year old white electric range with a new black one, I wanted to change my white range hood for a matching black one. My condo is approximately 30 years old and was built without outside venting over the stove so I needed a non-ducted range hood. After an exhaustive search (pardon the pun) I finally located this Broan range hood in black. It is essentially an updated version of the 30 year old model. I had it installed professionally but watched the installation and could probably have done it myself. Very easy and quick. The fan in the updated model is not quite as powerful as the old one, but it still does a very good job of clearing up any smoke or cooking odors in my kitchen. It is fairly quiet, even on the higher speed.
