Footnotes:

  • *Maximium Burst Power indicates the actual power this amplifier will deliver to the speakers under normal operating conditions. While the FTC power rating indicates power available on a continuous, long-term basis, multi-channel systems do not rely on that type of power. Instead, the amplifier is called upon to deliver large, short-term bursts of power to be able to support today’s digital music, games and movie formats. In addition to the required FTC power rating, we have provided the maximum burst output as a better indication of the product’s true performance.

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
Honestly, I don't think these are all that they are cracked up to be. First of all, they lack in the design element. They are very basic and blah looking. Second, the Bass is way to over powering. Even when you turn the bass down, it is still off balance. You do not hear the full range you would hope for in these speakers. Also, they do sound a bit shallow.
Best Uses: Basic Systems
Cons: Poor Sound Quality
Pros: Powerful, Easy To Connect

Even though the speaker wires are thin, the sound is great. May even be improved with specialty Monster cables which I could not find in stock anywhere. The subwoofer defines bass notes well and is quite powerful, yet not very large. Satellites sound tremendously better than the usual speakers included with systems like this. Overall sound is very well balanced.
Pros: Bang for buck is high, Sub sats blend perfect, Sub has quality bass, Accurate mids and highs, Powerful, Good Sound Quality, Compact, Durable
Best Uses: Home
Cons: Thin speaker wires

I won these speakers in a raffle. I am so excited. I replaced my old stereo and computer sound system with this. It plays computers and everything else with the best sound quality I have ever heard. It's really small and theres very few wires. I can't believe the sound that comes out of these tiny speakers. They're AMAZING. Can't wait to take them with me to college in a few months :]

Excellent 2.1 system with Great Sound...

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
Excellent 2.1 system from Klipsch with good sounding subwoofer. You could use this with your computer system and be well satisfied. I'm using mine with my HDTV in my bedroom, as I converted the 1/8 plug into audio imputs, and I have an outstanding sounding system for games and movies. You can not go wrong with this 2.1 system...Downside is there is no remote, but not a problem with my setup, as I have control over my underdeveloped HD speakers, and these speakers really shine with Music DVD's. Controls for sub and volume.
Pros: Easy To Connect, Attractive Design, Great Sound Quality, Powerful, Compact

I use them in multimedia presentations. These have plenty of volume and a full rich sound. It would be nice if they were a bit more portable for my application, but life is all about trade offs. I'll give up the ease of transporting to gain the sound I want.

I can't say enough about these speakers. I have 2 sets of Klipsch floor standing speakers plus a Klipsch center channel speaker. The sound of this set along with the subwoofer is beyond my expectations. A friend of mine has a pair and he told me how good they sounded. I was amazed when I first hooked them up and listened to them. Very large sound from such a small speaker.

[...]These are great speakers, better than my previous Altec Lansings, and are Much better than any that I listened to in my search for new speakers. Do not buy those other speakers that look cool or flashy or that have more emphasis on how they look, It really is about how they sound! These sound amazing! THX = Yes!

These are great speakers, it is hard to believe they are a 2.1 setup. [...]I have owned Altec Lansing (5.1) previously and the Klipsch are in another league all together. One day after setting them up they mysteriously quit working. I emailed Klipsch directly, they diagnosed the problem and sent a replacement pre-amp immediately. The problem was resolved (warranty, no cost) and my speakers are once again fantastic. I have colleagues who continually are blown away by these speakers and can't get over how powerful they are. I didn't believe the "THX" certification was that big of deal, but now I do. Movies are much more accurately reproduced and my music library is once again alive and awake, or at least I am more awake because of the speakers.
