Don't forget to flush plenty of water through the filter after installation. The first several glass-fulls were cloudy, but one-by-one they became more clear. Now, my water tastes great.

I am on a well. I use this in my refrigerator because even though the water tastes fine without replacing it every year, the ice gets this weird taste. I could tell immediately after installing a new filter that my ice tasted better. Sometimes I noticed little white flaky things in the bottom of a glass after the ice had melted and now I dont have that problem with the new filter.

Installation was difficult because removal of old filter was tricky. Be sure you are able to remove your old filter before unpackaging the new one. But, managed to figure it out - works like a charm. Remember the draining process during installation of new filter.

These filters provide delicious and polished water up to 18 months with our relatively pure deep well water. The force required to remove them, together with the somewhat awkward position, however, may be more than many hands can manage, on the order of a severely tight jar lid. I always feel I'm about to break something.

I wasn't sure the filter really needed to be replaced, thought maybe it was a scam to make money. But, the water flow and ice cubes improved after replacement. The old one was hard to remove.
