Wasn't super great out of the box, but once dialed in with my receiver, I can't ask for better.

Line level input not adjustable with built in crossover. The manual does not states this! However this is not a problem or draw back for the unit. Modern good quality receiver/preamp/sound cards, has selectable low frequency crossover points.[...]. [...].

I researched a number subwoofers and found the ProSub 1000 to meet all my specs. I looked at Subs only. My speaker system is drawn together from various makes and models. I have Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble II sats as my front L & R. Bose center channel, and SpeakerCraft in-ceiling speakers as my surround rears. My old subwoofer was part of the Cambridge Soundworks Ensemble II system. It was not a powered sub, and did not really work with my current set-up. Weak. Since I've changed it with the Definitive ProSub 1000 my Home Theater has really come to life. But it really shines best listening to great music. I would reccomend this unit if you only need a subwoofer, and would have to imagine their whole series to be a superior choice when buying a complete speaker system. Good price, good size, good brand, good bye.
