The price on this was great and less expensive at ABT. I replaced a similar disposal that lasted about 10 years. This Whirlpool one took about an hour or so to install. I had my brother help me with this and installation was not that difficult. I've only had it installed for about a week, but no problems. I would recommend this product.

This unit worked very well up until it failed after 12th months of service. It leaked internally, and I had to remove it. My last unit lasted years, and I expect much more.

I had this garbage disposal for six years and became a master at undoing the plumbing tubes cuz they constantly became clogged cuz the pieces aren't chopped fine enough. Seriously, I bet I took the lines apart about 50 times. All I ever put down the disposal was, basically, salad fixings...lettuce, onions, etc. The past few months, it started to clog before the debris even got out of the disposal. The final straw was that it started leaking from the bottom of the disposal so replacement was mandatory. In many ways, I'm thankful that it, finally, rusted out cuz I was tired of taking it apart every 2-3 weeks. I bought an Insinkerator Evolution. Might have cost a few more $, but I didn't want to take a chance at having another underperforming disposal.
