Only one "con" - the silver button on the camera mount platform that prevents the camera from rotating...there should be an easy way to disable it for ease of screwing the camera on, and then re-enabling it.
Cons: Annoying feature

I'm unimpressed with this Sony. I've had other lower-priced Suncast products that performed better. I think you're paying for the Sony name here - i'd look elsewhere. I'll keep it because any tripod is better than NO tripod in some situations, but the build quality is pretty flimsy and the controls feel like they are not going to last very long.
Pros: Lightweight, Folds Small
Best Uses: Self-timer photography
Cons: Weak Construction, Poor controls, Unstable

Pans smooth & quiet. All you can hear when panning it is a slight sliding noise, which isn't very noticeable when recording. I had another tripod that clicked or squeaked when I did anything. When recording, you can hear the noises very loudly. With this Sony tripod, everything was much better for my home use.

Purchased for my teen son who broke his last tripod because of the weight of his older VHS camera. This had a higher weight capacity than other comparable priced items. Also like the sony name brand. think we got a good deal for the price.

Great Tripod

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
Great tripod for the money. I thought it would be a tad bit short because I'm 6'1", but it works out good. I don't mind bending slightly to see the LCD screen on the camera. I often use the tripod less than full height anyways. The circular bubble level on the stand (not the head) is nice. If shooting on a slope, you don't have to level the head, then set the legs for the tripod to be level, as one would do with a unit which has a level on the head. The axis tightening screws work well and allow for different resistance on the axis movements. You can tighten to the desired amount needed to tilt and pan smoothly if shooting a video clip. The quick release plate is quick and works well, and because it's a flat plate it gives your camera a nice base when setting it down out of the tripod. Weight is fine, and it folds down nicely to a small size. Legs feel light, but when you're ready to shoot it performs nicely. Super windy days may require some tied on weight to the bottom of the center pole if you're not next to the tripod and don't want your investment on top to fall over. This applies to most other tripods as well. If you don't own a tripod, GET ONE! Your pictures will thank you~
Pros: Easily Adjusted, Smooth Movement, Locks In Tight, Lightweight
