Really a nice unit and works perfectly in a small NYC apartment. I would highly recommend it and I don't find it unusually loud -

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Meets my expectations. I bought two - one for red, one for white. Yes, the fan goes on and off at lower temperatures quite often, but I keep it in the laundry room - so not a big deal. Would be a problem in a kitchen or bar. I had a different cooler rattle, go on and off, much more noisy than this.

Best Uses:	Basement, Room where noise is OK
Cons:	Can Not Adjust Shelving, Somewhat noisy
Pros:	Energy Efficient, Attractive Design, Precise Temperature

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

By far the best wine cooler I have purchased in the past 10 years. The Default Temperature setting or the manual controls make it easy to obtain the right temperature for any wine, red, white or Rose' The exterior stainless steel exterior finish is sleek and modern and would grace any counter top and the Cuisinart Three Year Warranty is an extra bonus
