Grinds consistently and quietly without overheating the bean. The grounds don't pick up a static charge and stick to the jar, which was a big hassle with my last grinder. I was unpleasantly surprised to find no timer, just a simple on/off switch. This makes it hard to grind the same amount consistently. Requires you to stand there with a stop watch. The bean hopper is a bit on the small side. Seems to be of high quality construction that will last. I read the red color, which I love, has been discontinued by KitchenAid.
