Warm water rinses clothes better than cold. I was having a problem with my cold only rinse machine and this one definitely solved the problem.

Spins Clothes Dry, Full water rinse, Adjustable Settings, Large Capacity |
Bought this washer because very disappointed with a front loader we had. Couldn't stand the limited amount of water used in the front loader, clothes didn't come clean. So wanted a top loader again that uses all the water "AND" a full tub of water for the rinse. (the rinse water in the front loader always looked dirty too). I went for this model because so many of the top loaders also just have like a rainshower rinse where the water just sprays, but the tub doesn't fill all the way. I wanted all the water because I thought I needed to get back to that so the clothes would come out clean. What a disappointment. What happened to the good old machines you could get back in the '80's where they constantly moved clothes over and down into the water several times. (If it isn't broke don't fix it, it's amazing how we can change to newer technology that is supposedly better, but is actually way worse than the previous stuff that was much better. Thank your environmentalists and EPA that we can't get washers that can clean worth a darn anymore, nor toilets that can flush, but we can make them so cheap we have a high turnover so we use up more materials and they can fill the landfill).
With this washer you can put a magnet on the sensor when the lid is up so it will still go and you can watch it. Glad I did. On two loads I watched a pair of pants originally placed in the bottom of the tub move up to the top quite quickly within the first 1-2 minutes during the load and then stay there at the top the entire time just swishing back and forth a tiny bit against the side of the tub with a portion of the side of the leg up out of the water. They were cargo pants and part of the pocket was up out of the water. It never submerged the entire wash time. What if something was on that area? It would never come clean. Also, the other clothes at the top hardly move down into the water at all, and if you have a load any larger than a small one it seems to move the clothes up so that some are sticking out of the water a little bit, and those ones stay there almost the entire wash and don't get moved down into the water much at all. Yes, I made sure it was not overloaded for the water level. On another load I watched two pairs of boxers and two shirts sit at the top the entire load partway out of the water. Needless to say, they didn't come very clean. On some other loads that had cotton jersey type exercise pants in it and some long sleeve shirts they got all twisted up. The things that do move down are twisted like a corkscrew into the water. Pant legs and shirt sleeves come out twisted like corkscrews. It seems to do okay with little clothes, but not big long ones. This washer is going back on the 14 day guarantee no questions asked deal.

Quiet |
I was trying to save money and thought, based on reviews I read, this model would meet my needs. However, it doesn't. I'm constantly untangling my clothes (pants, pajama bottoms, etc.) from the center agitator. A few times, all the water didn't get spun out and I had to rerun the last cycle. Save you pennies and buy up.

We wash 1-2 loads daily. It's so quiet that I forget it's running. I love the extra spin cycle option. Clothes are almost dry when they go in the dryer. Definitely cuts down drying time and I have a gas dryer so that translates into big savings on my gas bill. The stainless steel tub looks really cool and is much deeper than I would have imagined. I bought the unit based on the pictures on the ABT site and the recommendation of the salesman. Speaking of the salesman, he was pleasant, knowledgeable and happy to have my business. What a breath of fresh air dealing with him. I am very pleased that I never left the house and it was installed 3 days later. I think it provides great value for the money. The only thing I don't like about the machine is that you cannot change the action in the cycle. I didn't check the washer assuming it was empty before I turned it on. I quickly realized my error but the water had already rewet the clothes a bit. There wasn't a way for me to switch to the spin cycle since the unit is electronic so I had to either let it run through the enitire 50 minutes or put the extra wet clothes into the dryer. One more thing you need to remember to put the water level lever to reset first before changing the size of the load. Not a big deal but something you need to remind your family about.
Love it!

After almost our entire basement flooded causing us to lose everything including our washer and dryer, we were looking for something within a reasonable price. I thought it wouldn't turn out that great but I absolutely love it so far! Great size, cleans well, not noisy, good features(such as a small screen displaying the time left) and great price with a $100 rebate if you buy 2 GE products. I highly recommnend. You don't need to buy those expensive washers :-)
