BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

The machine is beautiful. It is a bit tall so storage can be an issue. It was a lot of fun for the kids (3yr olds) to make their own "ice cream" (frozen yogurt) and the recipes it comes with were delicious. However, on the first try we got something more like a milk shake and on the second try i had to leave the mix in the freezer for an hour before putting it into the machine. Even then it is not as firm as the soft serve at a fancy frozen yogurt store but SO MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE and the kids still love it.

Cons:	Ice Cream Too Soft

Fun for the whole family

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

We had a hand-crank ice cream machine that we never used so I purchased this electric maker as a family Christmas gift. We've been very impressed with the design and ease of use. All the pieces that need to be washed can be removed and washed separately. After adding the ingredients you only need to sit back and wait for the ice cream to be formed, and the toppings dispenser adds to the fun. The included ice cream recipe book is great and offers many ingredient ideas (coconut milk, bananas, lime juice) for original concoctions. My initial concern that it might not make enough ice cream were entirely unwarranted. I'd estimate it produces enough ice cream for 6-8 individuals. The only drawback, and not much of one at that, is that the finished ice cream isn't under pressure so it kind of "drips" out. It isn't forced out like a professional soft-server ice cream maker would do, but that doesn't take away from the fun or the taste.

Very simple to use. Ice cream turns out consistently good. No mess with salt, ice. Easy to clean up. The flow of ice cream could be better but is probably as good as it gets with gravity flow.

It works, you have to allow 20-30mins to make the ice cream/frozen dessert. You also have to watch it carefully, as it goes from being just the right consistency, too being too hard. Chill the batter before it goes in, that helps out a great deal. We like it and have used it a lot!
