Having seeen a number of portable DVD players, this one is a head above the rest. Toshiba is a high-quality item and the so-called "bargin price" DVD players reflect that in the picture quailty, battery life and workmanship.

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I really enjoyed the ease of traveling with it. The screen is dark when hooked into the tv at the hotel. THe system is easy to navigate. Perfect at the hotel!

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I know there were some complaints about the speakers on this system - believe me I read a lot of reviews before purchasing - I don't see an issue with the speakers (with or without headphones) My only complaint is the outside of the case - too shiny - leaves many fingerprints. Overall the product is reliable and runs quiet -something I didn't see in other portable dvd players.

Couldn't ask for anything better. Battery life lasts like it should. Used it for a transpacific flight, although I didn't need it much overseas, I used it for the short domestic connecting flights, sound was a bit off but it may have been the bootleg dvd's I purchased overseas. This unit was awesome!

For the money you can't beat this player. It sounds and looks good, and is a good value. Big screen and louder than others I've looked at are pros. Negatives so far include the piano-black finish which looks like it may scratch, and the DVD is loud when it spins up.
