I purchased this remote for use with the Alpine CDA105 HU, which didn't include a remote control. It works just fine right out of the box with no hiccups or problems. The only con I see is that it is a large remote (about the size of a Twinkie, but thinner) in comparison to previous remotes for the different HUs that I've owner over the years... I guess that means that it would be harder to lose :). Overall, I say that it is a good buy.

Due to the model radio I have, not all buttons on this remote are functional, and it does not control all functions of the radio. This is not a serious problem in my view. I realize that it's made to work with a range of radio models. The remote is very helpful in allowing a passenger to control the radio without reaching for the small controls on the face of the radio.

This remote is ok. That's about it. Ok. But that's not ABT's fault. They were great. [...] Always let me know what was going on with my order. So important with web sales, in my opinion. To ease buyers' concerns that they weren't just ripped off. Good job, ABT!

I use this product each and every time I drive. Knowing that I am much safer driving so as not to take my hands off the wheel and my eyes of the road in order to mess with the controls is excellent. Not to mention the convenience of having full control all in the palm of my hands and the touch of a finger.
And the quality? Like I said it's an Alpine what more need I say?

Remote works very well for MP3s and Radio however it lacks ipod control on the Alpine 9883. Wished it had access to search playlist, songs, albums artist, etc . . .

THIS IS A MUST WITH THE IPOD ALPINE DECK IF YOU WANT TO FLY THROUGH YOUR RADIO PRESETS. W/O THE REMOTE, ITS QUITE LABORIOUS TO GO THRU PRESETS WITH ONLY UR DECK. CONTROLLING YOUR IPOD CONTROLS W/ THE REMOTE ISN'T UP TO PAR.
