Wonderful machine. Haven't had a new washer in 18 years. Amazed at the new "gadgets". Second Maytag washer. Great buy.

It's pretty new, so long term I can't say. It's noisier than my old Maytag. However it does the job. I'm kind of disappointed that I can only expect to get 7-15 years life out of this washer. My old Maytag was 24 years old and not that I expect that again, I say that Whirlpool's purchase of the Maytag Company was not a good thing. We are cheapening our standards to sell more goods these days and are filling up our landfills fast. What ever happened to quality? Oh well, the way of the world I guess. PS - the service installer also said that the really expensive front loaders don't last any longer. I wonder how much money a person would actually save in water and energy to warrant the inflated price and snazzy looks?
Everyone is impressed by this washer.

At my house, we have an unusual situation in which several loads of laundry are run every day. These loads are extremely soiled and require special treatment. This washer has held up and thus far, everyone is impressed with the ease of usability, performance, and capacity. The buzzer is loud enough to be heard from anywhere in the house. It does have a special bleach feature. I have no complaints thus far.

Six adults share this washer. No complaints yet.
I think my capacity expectations were based on my previous washer. The loading gap is narrow.
The center dial is overly complicated and some of the categories are ambiguous.
A quiet machine it is NOT!

Our laundry room is next to the family room and the machine is used heavy on the weekend. Very noisy and distracting! How Maytag can claim it has a "QuietSeries 300 Sound Package" is beyond me! I wish we could hear it before we bought it. Other than that it's a good machine.

Used often by several family members. Has many water settings allowing for water conservation. Gets the job done and doesn't twist up the clothes like my old washer! It is more noisy than I would like.

This machine provided me with a quality machine at an affordable price. It works quite well with all types of wash, has a relatively large capacity, a large number of variable settings, and is also energy efficient. If your washer will be placed downstairs or in a room away from your everyday activities, you shouldn't have an issue with noise. However, if you live in a condo as I do in which you are close to the machine at all times, you may want to consider a machine that specifically focuses on being quiet as one of it's top features. The machine doesn't shake or make a great deal of noise, but the water filling cycles are a bit louder than other machines i've used in the past.
