I cook typical dinners for my family. I bought this stove/oven 2 years ago and am very sorry I did. The grill on top is an odd design so sometimes my smaller pans tip sideways. The high output burner is on the wrong side for a right handed person. The other burners are too small so I use the large one almost exclusively. The convection has never performed well for me. It also takes up so much space when I use my broiler pan the door doesn't shut all the way. I used the self cleaning feature once and it did get it clean but now the fan RATTLES so loud. I wish I had my dirty oven back. Just skip GE. I wish I did!

We're occasional cooks, and with only 2 adults in the household, this range is just about perfect for us. Nice to have the various burner sizes for different applications, marvelous baking & broil features, and very stylish. Control panel is intuitive, temperature control for the oven is spot-on, burner controls are excellent & responsive, and clean-up is pretty easy (assuming you're willing to deal with special needs of stainless steel). Highly recommended for an island application; fits nicely in our not-too-big island.

It's worth noting that this design does have offset burner placement, and GE would've done better to keep a greater distance between the 2 largest burners to allow more space for oversize pots/pans. For our application though, this is practically a non-issue for us as we rarely use mega-super-size cooking tools; and if we do it's only one at a time.

Would've gone for 5 stars but I'm not wild about the internal cooling fan that activates automatically when baking or broiling. All my previous ranges have been "built-in" style instead of "slide-in" style and none before has had this fan element. It's not horribly noisy, but I wasn't expecting my range to make noise the way a microwave or dishwasher does. Frankly it's just mechanical hum like any appliance with a motor or fan would have, I just wasn't expecting it. Something to get used to, and likely something that's integral with all ranges of this style.

All that said, I'd definitely recommend this product for just about any small to average household looking for a solid, high function, high style gas range.

Service and delivery comments:

GE delivery was FANTASTIC. Courteous, timely, and the product itself was beautifully packaged. Sounds silly to say that about packaging, but after having had another major appliance delivered (by a competitor) and damaged in the process, it's really something to appreciate!
