Quiet and Clean !!

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Very large, quiet and efficient washer. Dishes, glassware, utensils are sparkling clean. The tub design holds my large dinner plates so I no longer have to wash by hand. There are 2 things I do not like. The cycle is quite long, 2+ hours, which surprised me. The dry soap dispenser is small and the slightest overfill of dry detergent does not allow the cover to close.

Pros:	Easy To Load, Cleans Well, Holds large plates, Attractive Design, Simple Controls, Quiet
Best Uses:	General Purpose
Cons:	Small soap dispenser, Long Cycle

Good - but not Great

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

Owned this dishwasher for about 6 weeks now - has a funny smell when it runs that I think is related to the insulation (outside only). Otherwise no problems. The racks are not very efficient - my older, smaller Bosch fit more dishes, and not the best cleaner. However I think is does a good job, is very quiet and easy to use.

Cons:	Doesn't Clean Thoroughly, Awkward Loading
Pros:	Simple Controls, Quiet
Best Uses:	Smaller Kitchens

Good, but not great

This diswasher has a larger interior than the Bosch that I replaced, but because the racks are designed poorly, it actually fits less dishes. The unit washes well, but again, I think the my 10 year-old Bosch did a better job. The KitchenAid is VERY quiet and easy to operate and so far (1 month) has operated normally. However, there is a smell that eminates from the exterior (not related to the dishwasher area) that I think is due to the insulation getting warm during the cycle. I had a technician out, and he found no abnormalities, so I will continue to use the dishwasher and hope that the smell eventually disappears.

Best Uses:	General Purpose
Pros:	Quiet, Easy To Install, Energy Efficient

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

It's a fine dishwasher and a good value for the price. The controls are easy to understand and use, and the stainless steel interior, as well as the dishes, just sparkle after a wash. Since it's been installed, my 15-year old son is much more apt to load his own dishes without a reminder.
