Panasonic Stainless Steel Luxury Full Size Countertop Microwave Oven - NNSD967SS

Inverter Turbo Defrost
Adds a Little Cooking Boost
Panasonic has succeeded in evolving Turbo Defrost™, which allows you to defrost
foods even faster than previous Panasonic Auto Defrost. Panasonic Inverter Turbo
Defrost technology is an advanced microwave sequencing system using the Inverter
low-power delivery feature. It was developed on the basis of what scientists
call "Chaos Theory." This design makes it possible to distribute microwave energy
with the most appropriate combination of regularity and irregularity.
Keep Food Warm Until
You're Ready to Eat
A pulsing delivery of very low microwave power keeps the temperature of your
food at a constant level without overcooking. Our improved keep-warm menu
now includes five items, so food like stew, gravy and desserts can stay warm
in the oven until you are ready to serve.
Multi-Lingual Menu Action
Screen with Function Key
The Menu Action Screen is like having a gourment chef to assist you in the kitchen.
It scrolls step-by-step cooking instructions across the display in a choice
of English, Spanish, or French. Our Function Key simplifies the programming
of 10 useful, non-cooking functions. Just press the Function Key and the Menu
Action Screen will display easy-to-follow steps to complete the desired function.
Reheating and Cooking
Made Simple
One-Touch Sensor Cooking adjusts power levels and calculates cooking times automatically,
making reheating and cooking a variety of foods easier than ever.
Pop-Out Dial for Convenience
The elegant and attractive pop-out dial is a departure from the standard keypad
found on most microwave ovens.
Add Elegance to Your
Kitchen
An attractive, reflective door and front panel will look spectacular in just
about any kitchen.

I've had this microwave for a little over three weeks now and have tried everything. The most I have used this for, as the same for most of you, is for pop corn and tv dinners. I like the pop corn option that if you keep hitting the button diffrent oz's come up keeping you from over cooking (burning). I also have noticed that this oven is quite powerful compared to my 1000w models I have used in the past. When preparing tv dinners I found it was best if used at 90% for the time list on the instructions, 100% for tv dinners always over cooked or burned the food.
The defrost worked perfectly, an option I refused to use in the past is now something I'm not a bit cautious to use. I have used it on 40oz sirlions and frozen ribs all defrosted evenly without cooking.
The controlls at first were odd and it took my family say a half a day to get used to.
I would recommend using microwave safe bowls and plates and staying away from those Glad disposable's, I find while using those to store/freeze is fine, once reheating in this powerful machine leaves somewhat of a plastic taste to your food.

Very easy transaction. We were replacing an older Panasonic Microwave that suddenly conked out. We wanted a similar model and ABT had it at a very fair price and in stock for immediate pick-up.

It has only been 3 weeks, working perfectly.
This unit (1250w) cooks faster than my old unit (850w) and I just need to get use to it.

I really like the dial feature, rather than the usual number keypad. You just turn the dial to the time you want; it is smooth and fast. There is plenty of room for anything you'd want to cook in it. It defrosts evenly, without cooking the food. It also looks really attractive on the countertop. I would purchase this model again.

Difficult to figure out, Confusing Display |
When you punch in the amount of time you wish to cook something, the clock runs much faster than the time indicated. In other words, if you enter 30, it does not represent 30 seconds of cooking time (it runs at warp speed). The sensor heat feature heats things way too much- food ends up scalding hot. Instructions don't indicate how to enter time properly, so that 30 represents 30 seconds. Someone in the office commented "if a microwave is too difficult to figure out how to use, then it is not worth having. I agree - it should be self-evident.

Sensor Reheat overcooks |
I was hesitant to order another Panasonic Microwave Oven, because a previous one of the same make had a lot of problems and only lasted two years. However, this model has allayed my fears, and so far in three weeks I have had no problems whatever. The unit is very quiet; the only minor issue is that the sensor reheat function tends to overheat the food. The dial control is somewhat easier to use than the typical touch pad, another plus. The best feature of all is the size of the cavity, which allows the use of larger plates and bowls than most.

Perfect for defrosting food. My last microwave semi cooked while defrosting! Very very easy to use. The only downfall is that the push buttons are difficult to read if the microwave is not in the right light. It is a great microwave and I am very happy with it.

I selected the Panasonic to replace the one I bought over 30 years ago. This unit is very easy to use. I particularly like the sensor cooking. It has taken the quess work out cooking vegetables, and done a great job with frozen fish.

No negatives about this product at all. [...]Draws quite a bit of power, which means it cooks faster than many other units. Instructions indicate unit must be plugged into a grounded outlet. Mine is not, as I live in an old house, but the product works fine. However, I'd recommend following the instructions for safety.
