Features:

  • Long Range, Excellent Clarity and Greater Security
Our latest DECT 6.0 (Digital Enhanced Cordless Communications) technology lets you move freely around your home with long range and amazingly clear sound. It also assures greater protection against eavesdropping for all your calls. Operating in the 1.9GHz frequency range, your phone will not conflict with other wireless devices such as computer routers, wireless keyboards, microwave ovens and other common household devices.
  • Up to 6 Handsets with Just One Phone Jack
You can put handsets all over your house — in your kids' rooms or even in the garage — without all the messy wiring or complicated setup. With our DECT 6.0 expandable phone systems, you don't need a phone jack for each additional handset — just one for the base unit. So start expanding and forget about all your wiring worries.
  • All-Digital Answering System
This phone system is equipped with an all-digital answering system for quick, easy retrieval of crystal-clear messages. Message operation has never been easier, with up to 16 minutes of recording time, plus such features as a pre-recorded outgoing message, remote operation, Tollsaver, and skip-and-repeat. And don't worry about losing your messages when the power goes out — they're stored in flash memory so they're unaffected by power failure or interruptions.
  • Put the Phone Down While You Talk
Having a handset speakerphone may not seem like such a big deal — until you have to call an automated phone system. By the time you press "2" and return the phone to your ear, you missed half the next option! And when they put you on hold for 10 minutes, do you really need to hold the phone? Not with a handset speakerphone. Just listen along and press a button or pick up when it's convenient. You'll think up other great uses, like letting Grandma and Grandpa listen to their new grandchild at the same time, painting your nails as you talk to your best friend, or just being able to set the phone down while you talk.
  • See Who's Calling, Even If You're Already on the Phone
We've all become accustomed to Caller ID and its ability to let us see who's calling before we answer the phone. But what happens when you're already on the phone and another call comes in on Call Waiting? Until now, you wouldn't know who was beeping in unless you answered it. With Call Waiting Caller ID1, you get the best of both worlds. So now when you get a beep, you can see who's calling before you answer…but we'll leave that decision up to you!

This was purchased to replace an older Panasonic system that had been abused by the kids and wife for years but still worked. They managed to lose a couple of the headsets so it was time to upgrade. I do miss the verbal call announcement the old one had.
This was the right choice
By Nikunj from Sugar Land, TX on 05/27/2009.
Best Uses: Home Use, Everyday Use
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
Pros: Wide Range, Comfortable Handset, Strong Signal, Good Sound, Easy To Set Up, Good Speakerphone
I needed to replace a product that used special rechargeable batteries that did not provide enough talk time. This was the one product that did the job. I was looking for value and other Panasonic models did not give me the functionality for the price. I did not need certain features and could live with the way some of them worked on this model. Inexpensive AAA rechargeable batteries, a 17 hour talk time, intercom and phone book were important to me. The answering machine features were not. I would like a programmable one key speed dial feature, back lit keypad and unique ring tones but can live without them. All in all, the reliability of the Panasonic name at a price that is the best bang for the buck.
Good sounding, great price
By JJT from Charlotte, NC on 05/25/2009.
Pros: Good Sound, Easy To Set Up, Comfortable Handset, Compact design, Strong Signal
This phone offers good sound and the export/import phone book feature is great. I don't use the answering machine, so don't know how that works, but otherwise would recommend this phone.
Doesn't always hang up.

Best Uses: Home Use

Cons: Produces Static
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
Pros: Strong Signal, Easy To Set Up, Good Sound, Nice Features, Compact design, Comfortable Handset, Good Speakerphone, Wide Range
The only real problem I have with this phone, and this is maybe because I have the Time/Warner phone service, is that the answering machine does not always hang up. So, from time-to-time, after a "caller" (and I use quotes because its not always a live person calling) is done, the answering machine will not hang up and I get that loud fast-busy signal echoing throughout my house.

Good sound and lightweight
By Skye from Columbus, OH on 01/21/2009.
Pros: Nice Features, Attractive Design, Good Sound Quality, Lots of Extensions, Comfortable Handset
Cons: No indicator of old mssgs
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
The answering machine is compact. However, it does not have an indicator that lets you know if you have any old messages. When someone in the house listens to the messages, to the next person it seems that there are none. This has been a huge inconvenience for us.

By Kathy from Arkansas on 01/20/2009.
Pros: Comfortable Handset, Nice Features, Attractive Design, Good Sound Quality
Primary use: Personal
Best Uses: Telecommuting
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
In a house with many rooms...we can pick up the house without running around. Even in the kitchen I can talk while cooking and hear clearly. Over night guests can now have a phone in their room. Handsets are very light too. Wish we got call blocker but everything else on the phone is a keeper.
An excellent cordless system
By Hank from Concord, MA on 01/20/2009.
Pros: Comfortable Handset, Nice Features, Good Sound Quality
Best Uses: Normal use
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
I received the new Panasonic cordless phone system from Abt Electronics (an on line vendor). The system is terrific. The acoustics are better than any other phone we have or have had in the past. It is easy to program the phone book, and the hand sets have a large redial facility; it is very easy to choose the number you want to redial. There is mute button so you can hear the caller but the caller can't hear you. You can also use the system as an intercom without having to make a call. I doubt that you can call a normal handset. I am very pleased with the system.
Great phone-only one thing
By message checker from Chicago, IL on 01/6/2009.
Pros: Good Sound Quality, Durable, Comfortable Handset, Nice Features, Attractive Design
The phone is great, the only thing that I don't like about it is the answering machine doesn't have a display telling you how many messages are on the machine. If someone checks the messages and forgets to tell, then what is the purpose of the answering machine?
A Welcomed Gift
By Rob from Pennsylvania on 01/6/2009.
Pros: Good Sound Quality, Comfortable Handset, Nice Features, Attractive Design, Durable
Best Uses: Long Talks, High Call Volume
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
I purchased this phone set up as a gift for a family with a busy lifestyle, kids in college, grandchildren, the works, and they were always on the phone, complaining how there current phone system was not working properly. After much research and owning other Panasonic products over the years with great results, I went with my gut. The system went over with great results and fanfare, as soon as "they" opened the phones for Christmas, they were plugged in and being used by everyone in the house. I would definitely recommend this system, nothing crazy fancy but everything you need in a phone system with a few perks.
Very Good Product
By Mike from Baton Rouge, LA on 12/29/2008.
Pros: Comfortable Handset, Attractive Design, Durable, Good Sound Quality, Nice Features
Best Uses: Conference Calls, Telecommuting
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
**This set has the INTERCOM we wanted, though you must enter a single remote to call (a 'call all remotes' option would have been nice). **This set has 'conference' call, which allows TWO handsets to talk with an outside call. **This set uses readily available AAA recharagable batteries (2/handset); no expensive 'special battery packs'. With a max of SIX handsets (this set comes with four), this is a long term cost saver
I would certainly buy this product again

Best Uses: Everyday Use
Pros: Nice Features, Comfortable Handset, Compact design, Easy To Set Up, Good Sound

Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
I've had the unit several weeks and no problems yet. Sound quality is good, range was a slight issue until I relocated the base to a location more central to the outlying units. Especially like that I can answer a call by simply picking up a unit off it's charger - no need to press buttons to answer.

Pros: Attractive Design, Durable, Nice Features, Good Sound Quality, Comfortable Handset
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
Best Uses: Telecommuting, Long Talks
I use this phone in all areas of my home, including outside of my home in the yard. There have not been any problems with reception, continuity of sound, or voice quality. When I ordered this phone, I also ordered additional headsets and they are of equal quality. The phonebook option and the menu options are many, especially the ease of transferring phone book to all other handsets throughout the home. There are not many things, if at all, that are problematic. This phone has been a real deal.

I'm not a person who spends time reading manuals so it was nice to open up the box, charge the phones and start using. For example the intercom feature was something I tried yesterday and it was simple and fun to use.

How long have you owned it: One-to-three months

Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
Cons: Wall Mount
I was reluctant to try this product at first, but needed additional phones in rooms where there were no phone lines installed. Since I have had good luck with Panasonic products in the past, I decided there was a good chance I'd be satisfied with the DECT 6.0 system. I am extremely happy with the system and very glad I purchased it. The sound quality is excellent and the portability is a great feature. I believe it is a good value for the price I paid. The only negative issue I have is that the wall mount is only useable for the base unit, and it's not a very attractive mount.

Best Uses: Intercom
How long have you owned it: One-to-three months

Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
I bought this phone to replace a set of cordless phones that gave up, like previous ones, mainly because of the battery failures. The replacements were so expensive that I thought I'd try the new generation. So far (2 months), it's doing great on that front. The one big problem we had was a loud clicking noise intermittently, which drove us crazy until we noticed a small note in the instructions saying that the base could not be near or in a window. We moved it, and since then have had no problems. (Note that the other handsets can be anywhere; it's just the one that plugs into the phone line that needs to be placed carefully.) We love using this set of phones as an intercom (you can call any other handset easily), which is great in a house with 3 levels! My only quibble with the phone, now that we solved the noise mystery, is that I have to use the instructions to do any programming, because it's not obvious how to do things like deleting all the old caller IDs, etc. Also, to get your phone book onto all the handsets, you have to do a particular thing, which I have to look up each time. However, it is able to do a lot, so this is a small criticism, really. I also love it that all the handsets tell you if you have a message on the answering machine. One other thing I'd like to have is the ability to mute the ring on any of the handsets. There's no way I've found, short of leaving the phone in another room, to avoid having the bedroom one ring and wake us.

We had a vtech phone for a number of years, but could not pass up options and pricing of this product. We have been very happy with our purchase. Great sound quality, no conflict issues with wireless network, lightweight. Good battery life. With 4 handsets, the ability to easily copy the phonebook entries between handsets was a big plus. Ability to check voicemails from any handset also great. Would strongly recommend product.

The Dect 6.0 Panasonic is my first cordless phone. This phone has great sound, no interference from the computer or microwave. I especially like the Speaker Phone and it comes with easy instructions for setup. The SP allows me to multitask while talking on the phone. My family and friends said they can hear me clear as a bell when using the SP.The phonebook is great to use, if you have missed calls or calls waiting you can transfer the calls instantly into the phonebook-Great! You can also put several numbers in the phonebook and send them directly to the additional headsets without going directly to each headset! I love the alarm; -throw away the clocks for extra space on the nightstands! Love the fact that the display shows date, time and year makes it easy to set alarm clock. Intercom/Transfer is wonderful if you need someone else to pickup the call in another room in the house. The only problem I had with this phone is call waiting does not display the number of new calls verses existing. Perhaps Panasonic didnt think it was necessary since the display window captures the words New Messages [3] on the headset? And they expect the customer to erase the calls ASAP.I would recommend this phone to anyone who is seriously looking for a great product with simple instructions. I thoroughly researched cordless phones on CNET... and no matter how much the price range would change the KXTG1034S/ Panasonic DECT 6.0 was be the best rated cordless phone.I wasnt sure how my husband would react to the cordless phone verses our previous antiquated phones, but he loves the Dect 6.0 Panasonic. [...] I will be purchasing additional products. Take Care.

I mainly use this for home use for calls when I'm not on my cell phone. I've used Panasonic phones in the past and have been quite pleased with their quality, however this phone's volume is a little disappointing. I like that it has features such as the phonebook, extended talk time, and alarm clock.

Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
Cons: Remote access menu clumsy
Provides great flexibility for phone placement troughout the house. Like the selectable ring tones. Good sound quaility. Easy to learn operation. The voice simulation of menu items is awkward. Remote access to message log is awkward; only one menu item can be reviewed at a time and each item requires a keystroke to advance to the next level of choices in the menu. Example: "To listen to messages press one, to review other options press two. (press two) To record new greeting press one, to review other options press two. Etc."

recently I upgraded my phone system because I did set my home computer wireless network and read that my old 2.4 Ghz system could create interference. Now Im getting lots of dropped calls. I will try the 5.8 Ghz Panasonic phone before finishing this review

Pros: Durable, Good Sound Quality, Nice Features, Attractive Design
Best Uses: Family phone, Used frequently
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented, Value Oriented
Cons: Ring could be louder
The sound quality is great. The base unit is compact compared to others I've had so it doesn't take up as much room. We have a busy household and the phone gets used frequently. Everyone in the house likes it. Only problem I can see is that the ringer could be a little louder, but since I have a small house and we have 4 units hooked up, it's not such a big deal. Also, phone works great outside and in the garage.

You are buying 4 phones for the price of 2 from most other brands. The sound quality is excellent in all levels of my house. I really do like the intercom feature of the phone. The ease of inputing names in the phonebook and transfering them to the other phones is an great feature I like. I would recommend this phone to anyone looking for quality and good pricing.

We have only one active phone line in our old house. With this set, we now have phones all over the house! The best part is that each handset displays missed calls and messages, so you can check your messages on any of the phones, not just the base!

Pros: Comfortable Handset, Good Sound Quality, Durable, Nice Features, Attractive Design
Best Uses: Long Talks
Cons: Not really a wall phone
Primary use: Personal

Not really a good wall phone, mounts perpendicular to the wall so phone sticks out too high to fit under the kitchen cabinet. Most people want their answering machines in the kitchen, but who wants to clutter their counter top with a phone. Hope this problem is corrected in the future. [...].
