These replaced my 25 year old infinity speakers and they are great. I like the sound and the size. (But I don't consider myself an audiophile.)

Nice Little Speakers

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I added these speakers to my Logitech Z-2300's The Logitech satellites lacked mid-range, and were a little to bright sounding. These Sony speakers added a nice warm mid-range to my system. The combination of the Logitech satellites and Sony bookshelf's sounds great. I am totally happy with my purchase.

Fits my need to a "T"

Wanted a speaker system to play muzak (background) music. Needed a small size to fit on a bookshelf, and these fit that objective. I've got a 100w/channel amp, so these do match nicely in cranking out some louder music, but they aren't a 3' or 4' big floor speaker, but really, they do a nice job.

Great Small Speakers

My wife listens to online music and mp3s all day long. We've output her computer to a Sony Bookshelf system and upgraded the original speakers to the SSB1000. This is a great system for this type of application, as the speakers can easily handle anything the soundcard or the bookshelf system can throw at them.

Great Speakers

In general, I avoid Sony products but these speakers were highly rated by other reviewers and so many other speakers in the price range were not. After using them for a month now, I agree. This is a good, low-cost set of bookshelf speakers that are performing well in a small room.

Went looking for a nice pair of small speakers and read the comments from other customers. decided that these were what i needed. great sound, no distortion at all. keeping the volume down doesn't affect the quality of the sound either. exactly what a smaller room needs.

Small in size great in sound

I use these for a fill in sound for my tv. I have them hooked up to a satellite receiver and the sound fills the room. For the price I have not found any better. They are easy to install and easy on the eyes. Great product. I would recommend these for anyone who has an average need and does'nt want to spend a fortune
