Remeber the 60's?

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This was the BIGGEST disappointment! Sony nearly invented the portable CD with the Walkman and I would have expected MUCH better quality... instead the radio sounded like an old transistor radio from the 60's and the CD player only played for 7 seconds... skipped then shut off. That happened with ALL of the CD's I tried. Piece of JUNK IMO. I sent it back!

Cons:	Poor Sound Quality, Skips Easily, Are you sure it's a Sony

I was looking for a CD player that would go back to where I left off when listening to audio books, which my last 2 did NOT do. I am so happy that this Sony does. Then the plus is that the sound is great & there is also a radio too. What more could you ask for?

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought this model still new, D-FJ041, to replace my old portable CD player. Very difficult to find portable CD players as mp3 players are now prevalent and more popular! Good: 1. Music from cd player is very good esp. if you use good headphones! 2. Radio tuner, AM/FM, is included Bad: 1. POOR BATTERY LIFE: even if you don't use, the unit will suck the battery dry within 3 days!! 2. Battery compartment inside the cover, below the CD. There's no strip to pull out the battery! 3. LED display is NOT illuminated! You can NOT see display when it's dark! 4. Control buttons are SMALL and NOT illuminated. Very difficult to use in dark conditions! 5. Radio does NOT work well! Have owned Sony radios in past and STOPPED buying them since Sony makes CR*PPY radios that do NOT pull in weak stations!! 6. Almost all portable CD players have NO belt clips or any CD harness even when the package says the CD unit can be used during exercise. Make sure you have the AC wall adapter since this model sucks up battery life and will cost you in total ownership of product >:( Will NEVER buy Sony products again! I mean it this time!

Good Walkman w/am/fm Radio

I listen to a lot of music of all kinds and different radio programs. This Walkman has done the job for me, so far. I can play a CD and switch to radio. My favorite FM station comes in just great! AM is a little weaker.

I gave this to a friend as a gift and they have done nothing but rave about it ever since. I did a lot of research on CD Players on the web before I chose this one. It appears that what all the other reviewers had to say about the DFJ041 was right - this it the best one to get for the money. I'm only giving it four stars, though, because I myself haven't had a chance to test drive the product. Everything I've heard about it, albeit good stuff, has come from other people's experience with it and not my own.

I walk a lot, for exercise..The sound quality is the best I have ever had in a Walkman and it has a long battery life..Light weight and has not skipped once in all of the time I have used it... I like this Walkman so much, I have been considering ordering another one in a different color...I highly recomend this walkman...
