Just don't mention taste and color.
By pip2200 from Northfield, MA on 01/10/2010.
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
Pros: Quick preparation, Easy To Prepare
Cons: Tastes Bad, Unhealthy
The unit has a heavy plastic taste with the cold water and has developed rust with the hot water system. There is a gradual build up of rust and after a month, there is significant rust that I have drained out of the bottom of the hot water discharge tube. Simply undrinkable at this stage....a very disappointed customer.
Great for single users
By Padre from Hartford, MI on 01/1/2010.
Pros: Easy To Prepare, Great Tasting
Cons: Limited capacity
Primary use: Personal
Best Uses: Personal use
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
It works well except that you can only get a couple of drinks whether hot or cold before you have to wait a long time for it to recover. Good for personal use but not for a group.
It doesn't work as good as it looks
By Marc the Pharmacist from Hackensack, NJ on 09/12/2009.
Best Uses: Every day drinking supply, Snack
Pros: Looks great, Fits anywhere, Easy to get started
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
Cons: Water only drips out, 1st one was damaged
The unit is simple to get started and to use. It is very compact and allows the use of just about any size water bottle. What I don't like is the fact that when you dispense the water into a cup, it takes forever. Sometimes you want a glass of water right away. However, you could fill a glass with tap water, drink it, and repeat the process before you would fill the same glass with water from the cooler.
Awsome Water cooler/ Heater Great Buy!!
By Cherie from MPLS, MN on 08/29/2009.
Best Uses: Camping
Cons: Messy
Primary use: Personal
Pros: Quick preparation, Great Tasting
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
[...]Very compact (love that in the camper)Only thing that I didn't take into account is putting the H2O bottel and not having any water leakage. We manage not too big of a deal.Would advise that this is a GOOD product and a GOOD company to do business with.
Great for Personal Use
By Tennessee from Knoxville, TN on 08/3/2009.
Pros: Cold Water is Cold, Hot Water is Coffee Hot
Best Uses: One person no hurry
Primary use: Personal
Cons: REALLY SLOW POUR
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
Cold water is perfect temp (~40F). Hot water is hot enough for coffee/tea (~190F). Easy to replace 3 gallon water jug, but could be more difficult for a 5 gallon. Product itself feels unstable, but nothing has happened yet. Only real bad part is that the pour (more like a drip) is very slow. Very slow.
Good value and price
By Sasha from Arizona on 06/7/2009.
Best Uses: At home
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
Pros: Very quiet, Great Tasting
This is a great water cooler for the price and it is very quiet when it is on. Make sure to rinse it really really good before you put water in it. My first bottle of water tasted a little funny but now it is great.

By Mamajojo from Puyallup, WA on 05/12/2009.
Best Uses: Every day use
Pros: No/Little Mess, Easy To Prepare, Great Kitchen Addition, Great Tasting, Quick preparation, Healthy
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
My family uses the water cooler for every day use. I especiallly like that my teenager drinks a lot more water than before making this purchuse. A huge plus!!! Also, I use the microwave less for reheating my coffee and our making hot tea or instant coffee. Yeah!!! My teenager seems to think it takes too long to fill up his water bottle but, he's a teenager who is always on the go...me, I say slow down. I get about 22 ounces out of it(cold water) before the light comes on to let me know it's cooling again. Personally, I think that's pretty good considering that before I drink the full 22 ounces the cooler has the water chilled for my next 22 ounces! I also enjoy the storage compartment. Our drinking cups fit nicely in it. All in all, I feel that the cost I invested in your product has overwhelmingly been worth the money spent. I plan to purchase one for my parents as well. Thank you.
Love it! Better than expected.
By Everet from Oak Harbor, WA on 05/4/2009.
Pros: Great Tasting, No/Little Mess
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
This water cooler/heater is used in our home. It fits beautifully on our counter top, looks great and works exceptionally well. Would defenitely recommend this product to others.
Great value for small office or home
By Suremon from Denver, CO on 04/3/2009.
Best Uses: Break Room
Primary use: Business
Pros: No/Little Mess, Great Tasting
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
Cons: Slow flow rate
Other than the slow flow rate and potentially limiting hot water capacity, this is a very good value. Groups of more than a dozen may want to opt for a full-size model.
I would buy this product again
By dustbuny2 from Kempner,TX on 03/25/2009.

By Tea Time'ur from Very Rural, KY on 03/4/2009.
Best Uses: Guest cabin
Pros: Handy time saver, Tiny cupboard, Small size, Easy to clean, Does hold a 5 gal bottle, Custom temp settings
Primary use: Personal
Cons: Safety switch combersome, Limited hotcold storage
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
We use bottled water for drinking and cooking in our home. We also have a small guest cabin and use the table top model recently purchased there. It is great for quick hot tea, hot chocolate and chilled drinking water. Very handy. Water does come out a bit slow but hey...it is a guest/vacation cabin. You are supposed to slow down relax and enjoy... Works for us.
very unsatisfactry item
By makelson from New Jersey on 02/24/2009.
Best Uses: For only one person
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
Cons: Too small a quamity
Pros: Water temps are good
I am totally dissatisfied with this product. It produces small amoutns of useable hot/cold water - and takes an inordinate amount of time to reccop same. I don't like the 'child' safety factor on the hot water it makes it more difficult for these old, crippled hands to use it - it should have been an option. My old, full sized unit that I had was wonderful - I could take out a quart or more at a time of either hot or cold water, easily dispensed and I wasn't even aware of the recoop time as it was so quick. The dispenser knob on the hot unit broke on me for a second time and I decided to replace it - big mistake - I am now stuck with this unit and am not at all happy with it. I would not recommend it to anyone.

By Dot from Fl on 02/9/2009.
Cons: Hard to get water bottle
Pros: Like all the new features, Keeps water really hot, Really good improvements, Water drinking is easier
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Quality Oriented
Best Uses: Used at home
This unit makes you want to drink water. Keeps it really cold or hot with no wait. Older model you had to press button and wait for hot. This one its there waiting for you. Very nice feature. Also just one center spigot is nicer than two and the water pressure is great. Our last unit was avanti and we wore it out.
was on backorder, works, good price
By Joe from Pleasant Valley, NY on 02/5/2009.
Pros: Good price, Energy save choice, Lightweight
Cons: No temp control dial, Cold should be colder
Primary use: Personal
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
Product is good for the price. I would prefer cold water to be colder and you do not have a dial like other units to adjust the cold temperature. The unit is also very light which is good for moving around and lifting, but you must be careful when loading 5 gallon bottle as they can literally knock the thing over.

The taste
By mike the mechanic from tucson, az. on 12/17/2008.
Best Uses: Break Room, Special Occasions, Snack
Pros: No/Little Mess, Healthy
Primary use: Personal
Cons: Tastes Bad, Difficult to prepare
Describe Yourself: Value Oriented
This cooler is great and works very well. The taste of the water was not good at first. After cleaning it out with baking soda and vinegar, it began to taste better slowly but surely. It shouldn't be such a chore to remove bad taste. Otherwise I give this cooler 4 stars. Quality product.

By Nobody from Central Florida on 12/5/2008.

We bought this cooler for home use. It works well for us because it is relatively compact compared to other coolers. The only drawback is that it dispenses water a little slowly (compared to the rental unit that we had).

This is one great machine! We have horrible well water and this machine is so awesome. The cold water is really cold and the energy saving feature for hot makes the luke warm (yeah right, its tea drinking warm) down right scalding. We had water delivery but never again. This is THE tank to have.

I bought this product because I was just sick and tired of my kids going in and out of the fridge and drinking up all the water and not replacing it!!! So I decided to be proactive and get this cooler. Because I wanted lots of water available I purchased the PUR Water Bottle for 3-5 Gallon coolers and it works wonderfully. At first I thought someting was wrong with the cooler because it would not dispense. But my 10 year old told me I did not put enough water in the cooler when I was first setting it up. All and all this is a great product. I love that it does hot water but we don't use it that much so I keep it shut off for the most part.
Nice personal size water cooler
By Dave from Houston, CA on 07/15/2008.
Describe Yourself: Casual Cook
Pros: High quality, Quiet, Easy to clean, Good construction
Best Uses: Small Office
Highly recommend!! This is a perfect size to use with 3-gallon jugs and keep water in my office. Very quiet and keeps water at a good temperature. The height of the dispenser is too low to fit larger glasses, so you have to fill a small one more frequent. But I guess you get colder water then anyway. Bought this to replace a Haier cooler with identical features ... that one died and they did not have a service center to fix it.
Perfect gift
By Jiggle from Sacramento, Ca on 06/27/2008.
Best Uses: Small Kitchens, Dorm Rooms, Simple Meals
This product was a great gift . my brother moved into a samll apartment and needed one. They hardly cook, just eat noodles, easy stuff. He enjoys it, but he says that the filter isn't good and you'll have to buy your own filter and put it in because the water doesn't taste all that great, but it's perfect for his little kitchen and it blends in with the rest of his furniture, really modern
Nice Little Cooler
By Thirsty from New York, NY on 06/11/2008.
Describe Yourself: Casual Cook
Pros: Easy to clean, Looks great
Best Uses: Large Kitchens, Small Kitchens, Dorm Rooms, Office
Cons: Not Cold enough
We use this cooler in a small office and the size and looks fit in perfectly. We have received complements from visitors about its attractiveness. However, the water is not as cold as other more traditional coolers. We have tried to adjust it but after several weeks, we are resigned to not having the coldest water.

By Joyfuljoyce from Las Vegas, NV on 05/9/2008.
Describe Yourself: Casual Cook
Pros: Good construction
Best Uses: Simple Meals, Dorm Rooms, Small Kitchens, Elaborate Meals, Large Kitchens
Right size for my counter top that saves from taking up needed space on kitchen floor. I bought this unit to avoid buying bottled water and unnecessary adding to landfill, i.e., fill up reusable bottle holders. It will conveniently hold 3-5 gallon bottles. One of my best purchases at a good price comparable to buying a water crock that only keeps water at room temperature.

By Kristine from San Diego, CA on 05/6/2008.
Describe Yourself: Casual Cook
Pros: Good construction, Easy to clean
Cons: Pours water very slowly, Only short glasses, Occasionally leaks
Best Uses: Small Kitchens
I noticed that I drink more water now that I have fresh, cold water available all the time. My big problem is how long it takes to fill a glass of water. The water pours very slowly. Another issue is I can't fit tall glasses under the dispenser.

Describe Yourself: Avid Cook

The Avanti is a really nice product, very nice lines and easy to clean. This water dispenser is very quiet and I only had to flush it once to get the "new" taste out. I purchased 2 Hamilton Beach dispensers last year and the Avanti is by far a superior product. My only complain is that the cold water does not flow as freely as the hot.
Terrific for the home
By In the desert from Sunny Southeast Arizona on 04/5/2008.
Best Uses: Dorm Rooms, Small Kitchens, Simple Meals
Pros: Easy to clean, Good construction
Describe Yourself: Gourmet Cook
We love our water cooler/heater. Others think the water flow is slow and that it takes too much time to chill or heat, but what do you expect from such a small unit. For the size this does wonderful. If you get it so you don't have to drink the water from your faucet, then this is great. Now you have to find a company that has water bottles safe to use, ie a 2 or 5 on the labeling for plastic.
Best Purchase for the Price

Describe Yourself: Casual Cook

I needed a water cooler at my workplace. I had looked at several different brands with different features and was undecided about which one to buy. I was leaning toward one that was much more expensive. Then I came across this wonderful table top one that had all the features of the expensive model. With some skepticism I ordered it and have been amazed at the quality and realiability of this unit. This is a great product and you cannot beat the price!

It's so easy to use. My husband likes tea and I don't have to take the time to heat it up any more. When I want cold water, which I drink a lot, I don't have to lift heavy bottles from the refrigerator. My husband loves the fact that it is so easy to load the 5 gallon water bottle onto. Neither of us can lift very heavy loads. Thank you so much!!!

We purchased this product to use in our Motorhome and at our Repair Shop due to the poor water quality where we live. We really enjoy both units and recommend them to anyone!

This unit is very nice looking. It's very quiet. The only problem I've had is it dispenses a bit slow, but it's not that big of a deal.

We've got it on the counter in our condo with a 3 gallon bottle. Just enough for the two of us. No issues with plastic smell as we ran a little baking soda through when we first purchased. It is a neat little unit. Just enough hot for a good cup of tea (and to heat the dog's dinner! Just enough cold for a refreshing drink.
I love it

Slow Fill
By Living in God's Country from Palacios TEXAS on 11/12/2007.
Describe Yourself: Avid Cook
Cons: Extremely slow to fill
Pros: Performs as listed
Best Uses: small foot print
Small footprint, quite, easy to use. However, if you need to fill a coffeepot (10 cups), get a chair, it will take a while! Other than that good price, good product (3 weeks).
I would recomment this produce to anyone

With the first bottle there was a strong taste of charcoal. That has disappeared with the second bottle.

At first the water seemed to have a plastic taste. The manufacturer gives a way to elliminate this. Now my water is great! The temp for the hot water is perfect too. I highly recommend this water cooler.

It is wonderful having hot water on tap to make tea without taking the time to boil water. Also, it is a good thing to have cold water on tap without always opening the refrigerator. We think it is well worth the space it takes.
Great water cooler/heater

Compact, yet falls a little short
By Paul with a 1 bedroom apartment from Clearwater, FL on 08/3/2007.
Pros: Built in cup holder, Hot water is optional, Hot and Cold Water, Compact
Describe Yourself: Casual Cook
Cons: Small cold H2O reservior, Plasticky taste to water
Best Uses: Small Kitchens, On a countertop
I bought this to use on my countertop and to replace a tall water cooler (made by Sunbeam) that was taking up too much space. I am very happy with the space savings, but have a few qualms with this unit. Despite following the cleaning directions (Run 4 cups of hot water through it...I used way more than 4 cups) The water it dispenses tastes like plastic still. I am currently on my 2nd 5 gallon bottle so maybe that will clear up soon. I know that this unit is to blame and not the bottles because I used the same bottles with another water cooler and that one tasted great. Another drawback is that it only stores about 2 large glasses of "kind of" cold water (about 55 degrees). My previous unit had temperature control and kept the water much colder (close to 40 degrees), as well as storing MUCH more cold water. I like the option of hot water but do not use it and am glad that it dispenses room temperature water which I use for cooking. All in all I like this product since it saves ALOT of space and I am sure it will grow on me once the water loses that awful plastic taste. 4 stars
