Sharp 42" AQUOS Flat Panel 1080p LCD HDTV In High Gloss Black, Model LC42D64U

Once again, Sharp®, the leader in LCD technology, has established a new design standard for LCD TVs. Withscreen sizes ranging from 42" to 65" ^*1, the AQUOS® D64U Series raises the bar by fitting large screen sizes intoincredibly small footprints. By changing the layout of circuits inside the LCD panel and by cutting the numberof parts, Sharp's engineers were able to reduce the depth by 30%, allowing placement of the D64U models invirtually any setting. The D64U Series utilizes Sharp’s proprietary Advanced Super View/Black TFT Panel withmulti-pixel technology, providing 10,000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio with Enhanced Picture ContrastTechnology and 4ms response time^*2. The D64U Series are HDTVs with built-in ATSC / QAM / NTSC tuners andinclude 3 HDMI™ inputs, compatible with 1080p signals, a PC input and 2 HD component video inputs. Sideterminals are included for convenience as well as RS-232C input for control. The D64U Series features a sleekpiano black cabinet with subtle, recessed bottom-mounted speakers.

My 42" Aquos HDTV (64 series) is absolutely beautiful. The picture quality is unbelievable and the colors are so vibrant. The thinness of the TV blew me away. It is very sleek & elegant looking. It is the best HDTV I have seen. I am incredibly happy I waited to purchase an Aquos HDTV.

I use this TV for everything: Cable, Blu-ray movies, Xbox 360, Wii, PS3, and Macbook Pro. It works great and the picture is amazing with all my devices. Watching movies at 1080p has never been better. The black level on this TV is simply the best I have ever seen. I do not have any banding of any kind and I do not see any dead pixels with this unit. I am happy to say this is the best TV you can get for the price. I would like to bring up one item that I am having an issue with. Sometimes the TVs audio doesn't work when I switch back cable after using other HDMI devices. It does not happen often. It's happened two times within the 2 weeks I owned this TV. It can easily be fixed my turning off the TV and turning it on again. It does not bother me though. In fact if it werent for this issue the TV would be prefect beyond compare.

The picture on this thing is just amazing. When I first got it, I wasn't thrilled with the picture quality, but then a few days later when [...] came and hooked up my new HD satellite and receiver...well, the picture just blew me away. I'm not a real "techy" kind of person, but all I know is this picture is so clear, I saw the little hairs on the back of Boston Red Sox player Mike Lowell's neck during the World Series game when they showed him in the dugout wiping his head with a towel. The HD channels are just crystal clear, and even the channels that don't broadcast in HD are bright and clear. I'm really glad I bought this one and can hardly wait to watch "24" in HD when it comes back on TV in January.

The Sharp LCD64U is the best LCD tv i've seen yet and that's not just because i now own one.I did 3 months worth of research and decided on this make and model over Sony and Samsung for a bunch of reasons, most importantly being quality,picture,price,reliability,and current owner satisfaction.Sony's are simply too expensive for what they give you and inferior in many ways to the Sharp and Samsung equivalent models imo.Samsung is also a nice choice but with the Sharp you get a bigger screen(42 vs. 40 and it DOES make a difference) with equivalent quality to Samsung.[...]If you want a great TV you'll love and want to buy it from a excellent and supportive retailer, then do what i did and pick up a Sharp LC D64U from [...]
