Sony Black Boombox With iPod Dock, Model ZSS2IPBLACK

Connect your compatible iPod® using the convenient built-in dock and listen as your music comes to life. Create playlists on your iPod and let the ZS-S2i do the rest. The Mega Bass sound systems delivers hard-hitting bass and the 30-station memory presets use electronic settings so it's always easy to find your favorite radio shows. For added convenience, an audio-in port lets you use other digital music players and the CD player features CD-R/RW playback so you can enjoy your personal CD mixes. A wireless remote control is even included, making it easy to change tracks or adjust the volume from across the room. And don't worry about your iPod running out of battery power—it charges while it's connected. Also available in white.

Not Good

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Instead of spending [$] on this unit, you can get a similar sounding CD player for $25 or $30 at any drugstore. The ONLY thing this player adds is the convenience of a remote control. I noticed NO difference whether I had the "Mega Bass" on or off, both choices sounded really bad.

I got a great deal on this boombox! The sound is great, it works well with my ipod nano, and has a remote control! Great for parties, taking to the beach, or just pluggin it in on the porch to relax. I got this as a b-day gift (to myself) and love it! You can not go wrong with this item!

Perfect little radio!

I was looking for a radio / CD player that my iPod could dock. I wanted the flexibility to bring it with me to the garage, the camp, the back yard, or to a party for background music. The sound quality is slightly more than what I would expect for a small radio like this. It's no entertainment center, but impressive nontheless. The remote is a nice touch, which fully controls my iPod.

This was a Christmas gift for my daughter. I didn't really focus on the fact that it is a "boombox" and portable. She wanted the Ipod dock with a CD player & this was the only one that met her request. She is very happy with it and pleased that it is portable! I got an Ipod Touch for a Christmas gift and will probably order one of these boomboxes for myself!

Not good quality

I bought this product for my baby's room to play cds and later an ipod. I tried it out in the kitchen for a few days, and at first it worked ok. I do not like the way you tune the radio. You have to start at the begining of the dial every time unless you have the stations programmed in. Also, after a few days, the remote stopped working with my IPOD and my IPOD started to skip and stutter. I am returning it.

Poor Interface, Weak Dock, Unreliable

This really is a great value for the money. The sound is adequate for music, but we use it mostly for audiobooks, so the inevitable compromises in sound quality for a product in this price range are not even noticeable.

It says Mega Bass. Where is it?

I previously had a white Sony boom box with Cd player with cassette player that I used constantly for 9 years. It finally quit one day, and since it had such great sound I decided to get another Sony. I bought the ZSS21P with the Ipod dock, and I was disappointed as soon as I turned it on. Where was the great bass and sound quality that I was used to? It sounded cheap and tinny. No Mega Bass like it says. The only thing I like about it is that it looks good when turned off.

I looked all over for this product. I was thrilled to find that ABT had it. I bought two--one for each of our two daughter's rooms. It fits our needs perfectly--great for the CD's we still use plus the Ipod we all share. Great sound for our purpose. The color fits the decor of the bedrooms. And, no sound disruption with all the dancing!
