The one to get! Professional look, feel, and performance. Large, heavy base is stable and stays put. The 7.5-inch cast-iron burner fits the bottom of my 10-inch T-FAL skillet perfectly, heats evenly, and quickly fries fish at less than max setting.Transitioning from propane, I had to adjust to the slower heat-up and cool-down, but that was expected. The cast-iron retains so much heat that you can turn it off several minutes before cooking is done. Not very time- or energy-efficient for very short cook-times like eggs for one, but is perfect for your 10-minute meals, and should handle any task, even large stew pots and pressure-canners.The Extra Burner exceeded my expectations and is now my Main burner -- and I'll not be refilling that big propane tank!

Bought this to have a steady heat transfer for coffeee enema heating. Does not provide staedy heat. Like many other hot plates, this turns on and off and thereby does not bring water to a consistant boil. Oh Well!

About Me Avid Cook
Comments about Waring Pro Extra Burner:
I recently bought an induction range and had to buy new induction pots. To continue to use the pots and pans and pressure cooker that are used with regular cooking range, I purchased the Waring Pro Extra Burner. After turning off the unit, sometimes there is so much residual heat (strictly depends upon the amount of use time) that one can boil a small pot of water. The product is great and excellent for our purposes.
Service and delivery comments:
Our online order was processed promptly and the prodcut was delivered on time (within three days of ordering even though it was free delivery). The product box was packaged in another box with filler so there was absolutely no damage to the product.

We got this to use at a cabin that doesn't have a stove and it's worked great. Soups, chili and stew heats up quickly and it cooks eggs great. I would highly recommend this burner.

I use this burner upstairs in the secondary kitchen and it's great; I also have cooked a large meal with my two burners. I like the solid burner plates. It cooks evenly and fast. Thanks for a great product.

I have owned many single and double burners and this one is by far the best. It heats quickly and has reliable settings. It distributes heat evenly even with a large dutch oven on it. I use it daily. I live in a tiny apt. without a stove and this product works well for my situation. [...] I hope you will continue to make this product.I will recommend it to everyone I know.I chose this model because of the flat burner. No more messes with ring burners.
Does exactly what I expected it to.

It heats up quickly. Boils water easily, which many other products out there do not do. It is solid. Doesn't feel like a cheap piece of junk.

Good Little Burner, Not Quite Hot Enough
from Middle Tennessee
This is a great little extra burner. However, I purchased it for canning because I have a glass top stove which I prefer not to use for canning. My old hot plates didn't work at all. This one works, but it takes a long time to boil so much water. I still have to boil the water on my range and pour into the canning pot on the burner. However, I think it is probably the best of its type on the market. It's small enough to fit on my counter for an extra burner at holiday time, and I know I'll use it then. I'm glad I bought it. Just wish it was a little hotter.

A little bit misleading product.
By Ron the sailorman
From the description of the product I was led to believe that it was an induction heater. But it is not. I am not sure if the internal method of heating is done by induction. It really is a hot-plate. But it does the job of small electric burner.
This thing is GREAT!!!! for my needs.

I live in a basement apt. with no stove so have had to buy burners and toaster ovens to cook with. The 2 previous burners I've owned would get burning hot on #1 and burn or scorch what ever was in the pan...only to shut down 2 minutes later. I was always fooling with the dial trying to get them to come back on and stay on! Well, this burner is great! If you put on low it will stay on low and if you need a higher heat it won't shut down after a few minutes and I have yet to scorch or burn any meat on #3 setting, when starting up.I wish I had done my homework on burners before wasting money on 2 cheaper ones.
