Comments about Maytag MMV1153W White Over-The-Range Microwave Oven:
I bought this new from a person I knew. It was still in the box. I loved it as long as it worked. However, after using it for only about 3 years, it started making a noise and didn't cook. I am told that the part to repair it would cost $157. I have owned less expensive microwaves with less power, even an off brand, and they lasted more than 10 years. I'm very disappointed in this and it will be trashed as soon as I can get it removed. Such a waste!
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This under-the-counter microwave is a solid performer with lots of features. The unit's buttons are pretty intuitive, so most people won't have to refer to the manual. The 1.5 cuft capacity is large enough for most microwaving needs, and the rotating table assures even cooking. The unit can be loud, however, both while microwaving (loud hum) and especially when the vent fan is on. The it's very loud.

Microwave is good, but recent unreliable operation repair to
The microwave was working well. However, over the past several months has an issue whereby it resets after a few seconds. It is random, but makes it unreliable and annoyance. A Maytag authorize repair man said most likely controller board which is $300 + the installation cost. Making repairs not option. Based on this situation, I can not recommend it.

About Me Avid Cook
There's no button to turn off the turntable, so oblong dishes get stuck at the door/wall. A bit noisey. Power level is fine. No 'quick cook' or 'one touch' buttons escept for "Add 30 minutes".
