The hardest part of the install was removing the old disposer. Very quiet. Haven't been able to put it thriugh its paces so I can't speak to power and durability.

Out of the box this is a nice looking product (as far as garbage disposals go). At first I freaked out because the girth of this unit is much wider than the econo-line / builders version of the Kitchen-Aide unit I was replacing. BUT... the clever engineers only wrapped the unit in this removeable plastic sound guard which was easy to take off and expose the model with the same form factor as I was replacing.

It's packed well and has most of the accessories needed, but I would have liked to have had a package of plumbers putty and 2 electrical caps which would only add pennys to this item's cost. Instead, I had to go to my local hardware store and buy a $1.99 tub of putty that won't be used and will dry up the 95% of the tub that I didn't use.

This unit installs easily (if you're able to read the instructions and reasonable with tools (pliers, screw driver and wire strippers). After installation, I was impressed on how quiet this unit is. Total install time ~ 1 hour (minus trip to the hardware store).

This is one of those appliance that runs so quietly you actually have to check that it's working. It's very powerful and grinds just about anything you feed it. Highly recommended.

I purchased this because of the ratings on Consumer Reports. My wife loves it, she loves that it is a "pretty" garbage disposal, and that makes her happy every time she opens the sink cabinet. Also it is quiet, we have it attached to a granite sink and it is very very quiet. It was easy enough to install and I am happy so far.
