By poochie42 from Somerville, MA on 04/1/2008.
Best Uses: Documentary, Travel, Fun
Pros: good focus in dim light, Small Lag Time, Great low-light photos, Bright LCD, Comfortable Controls
Describe Yourself: Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Cons: No built-in IS, LCD does not swivel
I have just stepped up to a DSLR from the Konica/Minolta A2. After reviewing a number of alternatives--Olympus E-3, Canon EOS 40, and Sony Alpha 700, I chose this for the following reasons--Live View, excellent focus in very dim light, 12 MP, excellent color, good noise control at ISO 1600+. I have not been disappointed in its low-light performance, both in its ability to focus and its noise.

I'll have this camera for a very long time.

I would buy this product Again
By Dove from Iowa on 02/25/2008.
Pros: Bright LCD, Comfortable Controls, Strong Construction
Describe Yourself: Getting started
Best Uses: Travel, Fun
One of the best DSLR's around. The strong construction is amazing and the ease of getting to almost all the buttons you need while taking a snap is readily available at your finger tips..The picture quality is beyond comparison and users of any level can easily start taking snaps right away.. I just love the 6 fps and the 8 fps with the Ac adpator or the MB-D10 grip...Took the snap of a grape and after seeing the details captured by the camera in the snap, my friend suggested that I should use this as a microscope....So glad I decided to get this one ...

Best Uses: Fun, Art
Describe Yourself: Hobbyist/Enthusiast
Pros: Strong Construction, Bright LCD, Comfortable Controls, Quiet
This is my first digital SLR (I am a old film photographer from way back) and it is just awesome. The controls and options are easy to understand and the pictures are great. The Capture NX software the comes with the camera is very useful in editing pictures. The Color control points let you bring in the vivid colors that you remember when you took the picture.

I Bought this camera 12.31.2007 upgrading from the Nikon D70. This was a SUPPER UPGRADE. I only have one Con. That is that you have to hold down the +/- exposure comp. button to us exposure comp, unlike the D70 you could just use the comand dial.
