No Moving Parts - But Still Failed

Comments about GE Profile 36" Black Electric Induction Cooktop:
I have to say that I am disappointed in the service life of this cooktop. I have gone decades with conventional stovetops with nary a problem, but a bit over two years of light use and this unit has about $1400 worth of repair bills in one failure (a filter board went bad). It tells me that G.E. isn't making things very well anymore and you may have to go elsewhere for quality products. When it worked it worked well. It can heat up a can of chili in a sauce pot in about 80 seconds, quite remarkable when you think about it.Cleanup is a breeze. There are literally no moving parts so there is no cleanup issue. The other big detractor is that the induction aspects of the cooking system makes it really hard to cook when you have an old favorite pan that is not ferrous. Once you get over that it's a nice cook top.

About Me Avid Cook
Control touch pads require constant "tapping" to change numbers...we found that firmly wiping the pad with your finger works better... otherwise, it is the best thing we ever bought for our home!
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
