It seems like an oxymoron: how could such a high-priced product be economical? Our water is from Lake Michigan and I have found that I can use very little detergent~~less than 1/4 cup, too~~to clean anything I can stuff in my fabulous Miele washer and dryer (also purchased at Abt). What an enormous pleasure! It's easy to measure, easy to use, the little pellets don't cake in a slightly humid summer basement laundry room, it rinses completely out of the detergent dispenser (unlike the Miele detergent~~who was doing the thinking there?)

Worth the cost
Had problems with build-up with other HE detergents. This one works great - a little goes a long way. No build up yet - have been using for almost a year.
