Lightweight Balanced-Dome Midrange

Spend a bit more and get something nicer

Overall a mediocre set of speakers. An okay midrange but horribly thin highs and a low range that doesn't require much before cracking. Quite a pain to install as the protruding speakers that come out of the woofer are very tall. It's basically guaranteed that they won't fit in a stock 5.25" location as the stock covers/grils won't cover such a tall speaker. The grills that come with the speaker are ugly and have that awful "tuner" look so it's a pain if you want to use those. They're not very expensive and you get what you pay for. If you're on a budget, they're fine. If you can manage though, spend a bit more for something nicer. You won't regret it.

I wanted a car speaker that didn't cost a million dollars but had a million dollar sound. Impossible you say? Well, the Pioneer Premier 5-1/4" 3-Way Speakers delivered the goods. I wanted car speakers that would let me hear the individual instruments clearly and make me feel like I was in the studio or concert arena right alongside the performer. And that's exactly what you get with the Pioneer Premier speakers. The sound is clear and crisp - you can crank it up and still not lose the clarity and punch. I would definitely recommend them for anyone who has a small car and who wants a BIG sound from their car speakers.
