Terrible design. Doesn't work very well

Comments about KitchenAid Mixer Stand Pouring Shield With Wide Chute:
I got the 5qt tilt-head stand mixer a couple years ago for Christmas and was so excited it came with the pouring/splatter shield. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed when the shield did nothing to keep the dry ingredients from flying out of the bowl and all over my counter and floor! I have since got the Blass bowl (which i love) and attempted to try the shield again - what was I thinking?! Flour was everywhere! The pour spout is also was too small to pour anything like sugar or flour where partials can go flying. Very poor design. They need to recreate this cover so that it not only stays securely on the bowl (both glass and metal), but close off the openings so dry ingredients don't have a chancestors of fly out of the bowl.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Doesn't stay on. Poorly designed
from Denton, Tx
I was so excited this came with the stand mixer I bought the other day... then I tried using it. It doesn't even stay on. You have to make sure it lines up correctly and even then it won't stay on. It's completely useless. I should have saved myself $70 and got the cheaper model that didn't come with this.

By cookie time!

My husband bought me the Artisian stand mixer a couple of months ago, I thought it was weird that it did not come with a pouring shield, so i bought it separately and what a disappointment. It doesn't close /fit tight around the bowl and the gap allows flour to spray out onto the surrounding area. I threw out the packaging, or i would return it. I love the mixer, it was an upgrade from a competing stand mixer, and it is far better. I just wish the shield worked.
Horrible design, does not stay on, NEEDS REDESIGN
from Boston, MA
I bought this for my wife and am glad I tried it out first. It will not stay on at all and slips off constantly. Also I am left handed and it would be very cumbersome for me to use. Expected much better from KitchenAid brand.

Don't waste your money
from Fairview, NC
I purchased this shield to go on my new Kitchen Aid mixer and it does not fit as securely as I expected...I'm highly disappointed. If I had not thrown my box away I would have returned it to the store.

I received this shield with my new 5 qt. mixer. It arrived warped & would not fit properly on the bowl. When I tried to use it flour was flying all over the kitchen counter. After reading some of the other reviews I agree it is a poor design. Would like to return it for replacement since it did arrive damaged.

Not for lefthanded people
from Duluth, Mn
The design needs to be improved upon. It's not functional for lefthanded people and doesn't stay on.

In addition to other reviews, it also does not function for left-handed people. I prefer to add ingredients with my left hand. I can use my right hand because I'm flexible, just prefer the left.

Won't Stay On
from Mandan, North Dakota
I just got this. Huge disappointment! It stays on but not for long. Right now it is being used as a decoration....
