I have this receiver vor almoust 5 years and only now i have substituted all Main capacitors for high quality capacitors with good ripple current, all KIA Ic's and RS Diodes switched to a better manufacturer and better quality IC's with same specs. This receiver is recomended to anyone who connects PS3 or a PC or also a 2 channel system like CD or MD, good for using DSP and decode sound into 5.1. One thing i installes is an AC fan with a 40'Thermostat wich it stays cool and makes no noise. Sound quality is good and power on 5.1 is amazing.

I have had this product for about 5 years now and I still think it was one of the best purchases I have made. I am finally going to upgrade to wireless speakers soon. It has been a great product and I plan on having this product for several years. The only issue I have with this receiver is that the HDMI does not support audio.

We use this receiver with 2 Infinity speakers, a DVD player, a CD player, a digital-to-analog TV adapter, and a cassette tape player. The sound for the TV is so much better than that from the TV speakers. There are a lot of features for the money, and it just takes some time to read through the manual to set it up.

I have been using a Onkyo 5.1 Channel Receiver to provide audio for my large HD LCD TV. My problem was the 'volume' levels would spike within a desired volume level on the receiver and suddenly blast my wife out of her office in the adjoining room. I therefore wanted to replace my Onkyo receiver with a Yamaha that had the 'continuous volume control' feature. Although the Yamaha still allows some volume spiking (especially when commercials phase into a TV program) the volume spiking seems less severe. I've had Yamaha receivers before and this one is just as impressive for the [$] that I paid for it.

Works as advertised. A breeze to connect up. The surround sound is driving my dog crazy. He keeps hearing voices and sounds behind him and starts to look around and growl. If the 5.1 surround can fool my dog into thinking there are other people in the house then that's what I call a successful system. It does it all at a great price. Buy it!

I'm just using this thing in a small to medioum sized room, with 5 channels plus a sub. The sound and power are exactly what I was looking for. The price is outstanding. I seriously can't think of a better value receiver.
