Great Addition to the Kitchen

BOTTOM LINE Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

This is our second Cuisinart Digital Convection Oven. Our old one of over 10 years old still was a workhorse but we needed to convert to the stainless to match our kitchen. After one month of use, it has not been a letdown. The oven cooks as if it was a full-sized oven. Loads of room, even more than the old one. Our only non-positive comments do not impact performance and are minor. Here are the two such comments: We make breakfast for 6 every morning and the first cycle of the toaster function takes a bit longer than desired to toast. The subsequent cycles are fine. The second comment is that the oven can get hot when cooking at higher temps - just use the handle and you are fine. I would absolutely recommend this oven. It cooked a lasagna with no sweat. Chicken nuggets are a breeze. Stuffed peppers came out just right.

I had many toaster ovens in our 43 years of marriage and I must say this is the best ever. It toasts evenly and the toast is not hard like some toaster ovens. I like the reheat function as sometimes I get busy and forget about my toast. Wouldn't trade it for the world.

Toasts bread evenly on both sides. Using the Fan Bake, it heats up frozen hot wings quickly and evenly. The temperature settings seem accurate. Easy to use. Looks good.

This stove is great in every way. The only downside is that the metal behind the handle gets very hot - especially problematic for someone with large hands. However, once you do burn yourself - and you will - you make an adjustment in how you grab the handle. DO NOT LET THIS KEEP YOU FROM BUYING THIS MACHINE THOUGH - so far so good.

Excellent Appliance

This appliance is attractive and the digital controls are great. It is ideal for toast, bagels, appetizers and snacks, but also works well with some larger items It will accommodate a 12inch pizza, frozen dinners and pot pies.One layer cakes and brownies bake very well. Larger cakes, requiring the use of the lower rack are not advised as the pan is then too close to the lower heating element. The oven heats quickly, signals desired temperature and the temperature is exact. For those of you who still don't like the microwave for many food items (like I), this appliance is your answer; it is much faster than a standard oven; uses much less energy producing similar if not superior results.

Plastic stainless steel!

A bit of deception. This was to replace an identical Cuisinart with a black front finish which began losing the painted finish. We bought this, at an increased cost, with the idea this was an all-stainless steel finish. It just looks that way in the pictures. The metal-looking control panel and the convection fan cover are painted plastic. these were points-of-failure on the previous black cuisinart where they flecked paint and eventually cracked under ordinary, day-to-day usage. For all that, it's the best toaster-oven we have found with all other respects in usage.

Cooks efficiently. I owned the smaller model for a number of years. I was very happy with it's performance. Gave it to my son to use at his dorm and chose to upgrade with the larger model. Both of us are happy with this decision.

Good Countertop Unit

- Crumb tray must be removed from the rear. It makes removal a bit difficult, depending on unit location. Also, the tray gets hot and is in close proximity to the electric cord. The cord's insulation could melt if they come in contact.

I have always read that Cuisinart makes good products. We are very pleased the product. Heated up frozen Salmon which I got from costco, it came out really good and fast. The defrost works great too. Yes I would definitely recommend this product. Have not cleaned the oven yet, but I don't see any self cleaning button over here :)

Worth the money

Got tired of jamming bagels into the old toaster, so went for this high-end product. Works great for the bagels, and we've exercised all the other functions with equal success. Even handled frozen chicken pot pies that said "DO NOT USE TOASTER OVEN" on the box. Easily accommodated 6 slices of bread for toast or a 12-inch pizza. Stainless steel finish looks sleek and modern. Only con: Metal exterior does get hot. Keep away from children. With oven temperature set at 400, I lasered the outside at 150 degrees top, front and rear and 110 degrees on the sides. Door handle heats up, too--keep oven mitts handy. Plastic handles on the sides stay cool but I strongly advise against moving the oven while it's hot.
