I bought this unit when both formats were running, Blu-Ray and HD-DVD and still use both formats to this very day. Anyone who trys an LG product would be very pleased as I have always been. I have enjoyed their products for both the quality and value of them. I first learned of LG overseas while in the military and have been using their product ever since.

We have enjoyed this unit for a couple of years. I first purchsed this as soon as we heard they were going to drop the HD-DVD format. We had a large selection of titles and wanted to be sure we would be able to keep viewing them. This machine has never been updated and still works without a flaw. It is a little slow to switch between functions but plays the media very well.

Though discontinued, considering my needs (many hd dvd & blu-ray discs) this was a very important product for me to own and says much for the LG company to have made such a player. Definately will upgrade to their product when considering.

Before even popping in a disc, updated the firmware through the unit's Ethernet with no problems. Tried an audio disc first, then a regular dvd (which looked wonderful, great up-converting here), again with no problems. Then came an HD DVD, played well, menus and all, with the Hi-Def I had grown accustomed to. Finally the Blu Ray. Beautiful. No issues on playback. Even the delay on initial playback that I was warned of was not unusual or extended. Thing even has a USB jack for images & music. Now I got one box to play my digital media in the best presentation presently possible.

For those of us who went down the HD DVD path the first time around, this player is a great compromise between doubling the amount of equipment or losing use of HD DVD collections. The slow startup of this more powerful unit is only an issue if you're really impatient, which isn't an issue for me. Grab one while you can still find them and you won't be disappointed.

Very pleased with my BH200. REally the only downside to it is that it is still of the generation of HD players that take a while to load the disc. Of course, with this one's capability of playing both Blu-ray and HD-DVD, that's understandable since it has to determine which format it's about to play.
