Picture quality is good from antenae; almost as good as my 1080 set of same make & size
I should of held out for a 50"; makes me want a 72" for the home movie theatre.
Great starter level HDTV

Slow to turn ON |
Watch Comcast, movies from iPhone.
Easy to set-up, great picture quality and deepness.
Looks much better than LCD HDTV (even 1080p).
Works great with non-HDTV external video sources like iPhone (3:4 zoom mode works great and smooth).
A little slow to turn ON (which is probably OK for any plasma).
Very good plasma TV, great price!

Wonderful image, the blacks are deep and colors are rich, decent audio, plenty of convenient inputs for sources.
The only cons are minor: the stand is designed so the unit sits about eight inches behind the front of the stand. I have it in a armoire so it sits a little too far back due to this. Also when viewing in 4:3 ratio the sides are gray, i would prefer black.
Great product at a great price

For being a first time buyer of a new upgraded hdtv product. It was great to find out that my money was well spent. Great picture quality and lightweight. Surprising sound and very easy set up.

This Panasonic Plasma Television set provides outstanding value for the money!! Just got HD from Comcast and picture is outstanding. No motion blurring noted, with excellent contrast, color and clarity. Even on SD picture quality is very good. Was concerned about plasma burn in, etc,but no problems as yet. I had focused alot of research and time on Samsung, Sony, and Toshiba LCD's but after reading numerous consumer reviews, I was impressed by what they said about this Panasonic model: TH-42PX80U. Even though it's a 720P set, I don't regret not upgrading to a 1080P Panny Plasma. I don't have "Blue Ray" but also did buy a Panasonic DVD S54 Upconverting DVD which also is excellent. [...] I would encourage all to research and view this set before purchasing any LCD or Plasma TV. It looks like a quality TV set, and performs like one. Hope this review helps.
Great buy, great picture

This unit has a fantastic picture. Blacks are deep and lush, colors are great, and it handles motion like a champ. It is comparable to the Pio Kuro 42" 720p model, and much cheaper. In fact I like the picture better than most 1080p models I looked at. There is some "screen door" effect when you get within a foot or so, but I will never watch that close, so no need to pay the 1080p premium. I'm still astounded at how "natural" everything looks.
