We are very happy with our new Whirlpool Duet. I was pleasantly surprised at just how quiet it is when running. Our old Duet was quite loud. This machine's spin cycle is very fast, and the the clothes come out without needing much dryer time! It has all the basic cycles I require for a washer. On another note, our old Whirlpool Duet had bearings that went bad after owning it for six years. The cost negated getting it fixed, and we decided to get a new one. I certainly hope this Duet last longer than six years! If not, we'll not get another Whirlpool Duet. These machines need to be built to last longer; with the money a washer costs, I expect and deserve to have a machine last longer than 6 or 7 years.

This machine is big enough. It didn't shake the house down or make too much noise - except at the end when the annoying notification device goes off to let you know your washing cycle is over - even at midnight - there is no way to turn it off. The technology is interesting - spins the clothes like crazy - had to way reduce the dry time - the clothes are half dry coming out. That is good - except for the wrinkles. LIke the extra rinse function and have been using it.But the biggest challenge for this machine seems to be getting clothes clean. yes, they go through the cycles (which are extraordinarily LONG - I'm talking hours here).... but in the end they just don't look clean. Especially whites, or anything with a stain. VERY disappointing. And because of the options I had to try lots of different cycle choices, switched up detergents, water temp, etc etc. So after three months (and probably too late to do anything about it) I am not satisfied. My last front loader was WAY better on the cleaning part of the job. I think on our way to innovation we forgot our primary purpose - get the clothes clean :)

Comments about Whirlpool Duet Tuscan Chestnut Front Load Washer:
When i bought my house it came with a brand new washer and dryer. Three years later and I'm saving up to buy a new washer because i hate this one so much. It consistently ruins my clothes by ripping holes in them. I've tried not filling it up which doesn't seem to help. Turning down the spin cycle does help but doesn't always work. Also when we first moved in the alarm signal didn't work so we had to have the repair guys out three times before it got fixed. No more whirlpools for me.

Came back from vacation and our washer decided to take a permanent vacation...with all the laundry to do, we headed out shopping and found this great Whirlpool front loader and with a $200 discount!! Very happy with our new washer and we had it the day after we purchased! Thank you to Whirlpool for helping with the mound of vacation laundry.

I bought my Whirlpool Duet washer and dryer about 3 years ago. I had to have the waher repaired within the first 3 months and the dryer repaired within the first year. Today, my washer is not working. I hate these two. I want my old top loads back. I had them for years and never had any problems.

We bought this unit @ 1 year ago as part of the pair with Washer. We like the different lrvels of dryness offered and the speed at which the unit dries the fabrics.
We have had ours for @ 1 year and so far have not had any problems. We noticed slight water buildup in between front seal and inner seal. After inquiries we decided that was a normal occurance.

I bought the wash about 7 months ago. I wish I could have bought it earlier...

I am happy that I chose the Whirlpool Duet washer. It is easy to use and gets the clothes really clean. We own a nursery and this time of year we have a lot of dirty clothes, the Duet washer does large loads and gets the dirt out. The spin cycle also gets out the water the best of any washers that I have owned. I am pleased with this purchase.

Work well, but a little noisey

I've had this washer for about two weeks now and am very happy with it's performance. It has a variety of wash options but it's not so complicated that you can't figure out how to use it in under two minutes. Would've given five stars if there was a "presoak" option for my white laundry. Uses much less water and energy than my old washer and is only slightly larger. Would definitely buy again.

Excellent washer. Only down side is it's a little noisy.
