I love my oven and rave about it all the time. It's a great looking appliance and mostly easy to clean (though the inset rubberized rim around the cooktop can be tricky to clean. Features I love: - The luxury lighting is fantastic and gives you a great view, though the wattage of the bulbs suggested in the manual did not match the type that came in the oven. Also, they were hard to find. - The luxury glide racks are incredible and I could not buy another oven without them. They roll out with the lightest single-finger pull, even with heavy items on them. You have to be careful not to push them in too fast though! - The warming burner is a nice touch. I also like that you can select the size on 3 of the burners, where with many stoves, that option is only available on one. I appreciate the individual hot surface indicators for each burner, rather than a single one. - The controls overall are very intuitive and easy to use. My previous oven required me to shut it off and start over it I wanted to change the temp while it was running, but this Electrolux makes adjustments very easy. - The dual timers are great as well. - After some thought, I like the small, second oven on the bottom. there are definitely pros and cons, and I considered an oven with the top small oven as well, but I figured I'd be more at risk for burning my arms, and would have a harder time seeing in it. The bottom oven works well, though having a lift out tray with some handles would really help as it's easy to burn your hands on the sides of the drawer. I've moved twice since I bought this oven and both times swapped it for the brand new one in the house I bought, because I like the Electrolux better.

I purchased this range 18 months ago. I was so excited to get my new electrolux appliances. The wonderful advertisements made them out to be such great appliances. I was very unimpressed with the true convection. I had very distinct hot spots and could bearly bake one sheet of cookies at time, let alone two. The wave touch is a cool idea but the control panel is constantly covered in fingerprints. These minor details aside, the range is simply of poor quality. After six months of using mine, I decided to do a self-clean. The control panel got so hot that it was totally ruined. I had this range replaced and now, after a year of having my new one, the fan quit working properly. I have had nothing but problems with all of my electrolux appliances. In my opinion, if you would like to have a beautiful set of appliances that will wow all your friends with thier lights and controls then this is the range for you. But, if you actually would like your range to be used for cooking/baking then don't even be tempted.

Comments about Electrolux 30" Stainless Steel Freestanding Electric Range:
Best stove I've ever owned. Bakes, cooks, does everything right and accurate. Too bad I can't recommend it to friends as we live out in the country and after purchasing the extended warranty found out Electrolux would not honor it after taking our money as we live too far from the nearest service center.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Like many others I reviewed the various ranges and determined that the EW30EF65GS Range was the best one. Its very attractive and the drawer slides make checking on your food while cooking a lot easier. Plus the touch screen display made selecting the various options much simpler. But that was 1.5 years ago. Plus I did not purchase the extended warranty. I finally decided to check out the self cleaning feature after having it for 1.5 years. It worked great until the end of the self cleaning operation countdown. Then the whole unit shut down, no error codes - nothing. The service tech I called attempted to follow the troubleshooting manual and threw it away. $800 later with two power supply boards and the touch screen display replaced it finally works again. But I am apprehensive on trying to use the self cleaning feature ever again.

get the extended warranty
I read every review I could find about stoves before purchasing this and it came highly recommended by them all. I agree it's absolutely amazing. The way the racks slide in and out so smoothly is wonderful and the temp controls and touch panels and double ovens just put it way over the top of everything else. I purchased the extended warranty on it as well as the refrigerator I bought because of the price and I am glad I did because eighteen months into the purchase the cooktop has started to go crazy. They are getting me new control pads and the cost is over a thousand dollars including the labor so I am glad I did that. That is the reason it did not receive a 5 star rating from me because i am disappointed that 18 months later it broke down.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Disappointed - Looks Good but not for a lot of Use
I am so disappointed - I bake and cook a lot - it is a hobby and that is why I purchased this Electrolux Range. I bake artisan breads - need to set the oven temp at 450 one hour before baking the bread - the oven does not hold a steady temp. In fact, it drops to 350. The cooktop is fragile - nice to look at but if you cook a lot it is a pain to keep clean and will pit very easily. I DON'T WANT A REPLACEMENT I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Trouble in Paradise
For the second time in 8 months our electric range is down and out. The problem is, the self-cleaning cycle burns out a control board. The cleaning cycle stops, the oven doors are locked shut, and the control panel is inoperative with no lights or anything working. In a nutshell, it is dead in the water. We use this applliance every day for at least 2 meals. Most all other features work fine and we are pleased from that aspect. However, after the first time the cleaning cycle killed the range we bought the extended warrenty. Now it has happened again. I would strongly recommend all owners of this range purchase the extended warrenty when offered. However, what assurance do we have that when fixed, it won't happen again? We wouild like a new range, but I am sure that won't happen.

the shelves area deal breaker
the shelves are great for about 6 months to a year then they are impossible to move in and out .... so much for the ease of ball bearings! also the shelve is thick because of the metal that sticks down interfering with the space you wold use to put in lets say a roast. now I just want regular shelves .....also the convection is supposed to make even cooking like cookies on each shelf cooking the same well that is not true for this oven either. anyway would have bought a cheaper stove.
Bakin' in Butler
We baked a moist, juicy turkey and a crispy crust pumpkin pie in the same oven at the same time. It cut the baking time significantly. The touch controls are very responsive, and both the cooktop and oven are quick to heat. The many features, such as being able to lock the controls, and the ability to choose either convection or regular oven, are very nice to have in the range. The ball-bearing rack is also a great feature. The large window is a help, and the lights are very nice. Audio prompts are a big help.

About Me Avid Cook
This stove was delivered this morning and broke by 4:30 PM. Error 15 is a MAJOR malfunction in the cooktop electrical components and according to Electrolux, will take a skilled technician several days to fix. Several key electrical/computer boards need to be replaced. I would not recommend this product.

pros and cons
as far as the oven goes, i really like it. it proofs bread wonderfully. the warming/lower baking dwarer if very nice. i love everything about it but, the flat stovetop already has scratches and i have yet to find a great cleaner for it. you might want to consider a mottled pattern for the stovetop that hides a multitude of sins that inevitably will happen if you really use it. i have no idea how the stainless steel rim around the stovetop got scratched (and i was really careful!),but it did. love the lighting in the oven, the temperature probe. i am the kind of cook who has pretty much used all the features that were easy to learn. my cakes have turned out great. this is my 2nd convection oven.
