Our 4 1/2 year old Maytag washing machine died [...]we were very disapointed that Maytag/Whirlpool had no interest in assisting us [...] since this was our first problem as opposed to multiple problems over the 4 1/2 years we owned the machine that they would not help us. That does not even make sense. I will never buy Maytag or Whirlpool products again.[...]The washing machine is great! (You need to read the instructions, it's operation is different than the standard top loaders and it's worth the 10 minutes it takes to read them.)Capacity is very large, wash cycle uses significantly less water and clothes come out spotless. The final spin cycle leaves the clothes, even heavy towels, with very little moisture. The reduced time they are in the dryer (still my old Maytag dryer)is very noticeable. Also, the machine is very quiet in all cycles.[...]have heard of no problems with these machines as well as pointing out that the Fisher & Paykel's Direct Drive motor (no belts or transmission to break) and Auto Balancing Tub make it by nature a long lasting machine. When my dryer goes, it will be replaced with a Fisher & Paykel from Abt, sold to me by Tim Murray!!!!

Ever since I received my washer and dryer I have been extremely happy with my choice. I wasn't sure about going with F&P machines but I'm glad I did! Some people said it was extremely noisy especially when it was with the spin cycle but I think its unusually quiet compared to my 10+ year washer I had before! It makes the clothes less wet so the drying time is much reduced. I like the ease on which to program. Verry good product and its an Energy Star appliance!

My Super Capacity, Super Quiet Kenmore dryer(Whirlpool) broke down just shy of 10 years and I went with the thought of buying another Whirlpool and just a dryer. I needed the capacity and I didn't want to spent a lot. This FP was comprable or less than the Whirlpools I was looking at. The sales person told me it works like a front loader and is energy efficient and many of the sales people have them at Abt. I was sold from the moment she said stainless steel tub, less parts and efficient in how little water it leaves behind.
I've had this less than a week, it can handle the same amount of towels as my old washer and is soooo much quieter. No complaints with the clothes - have done whites, towels, sheets, regulars and delicates. I am looking forward to getting my water bill to see if I can see a difference.
There are plenty of cycle options (you can program in your favorite and customize factory settings), an auto water level and there is even a start delay. The washer beeps when it is done... maybe my husband will actually hear it and put the wash in the dryer (I can dream can't I).
I'm amazed at how many features you get for your money.
I have a passthru laundry space and this is compact enough to fit well. I did have to raise my laundry room cabinets though as it is a few inches taller than the Whirlpools (goes to just under 57 inches with lid raised).

Small Capacity, Breaks Down, Noisy, Shakes/Moves |
This machine is horrible, it is loud and sounds like a jet taking it off. You can not put more than one pair on jeans it it. Only a half a looad of towels can go in. The interior drums comes apart and now after 2.5 years I have to replace it.
LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just love it! I did so much research about washers and dryers before I purchased. I could not be happier. The clothes are practically dry when they come out of the washer. Do not hesitate if you are in the market

I love this washer was looking at the front loaders but this one surpasses those. Clothes come out slightly damp, so drying time is significantly reduced. I have 3 children and do LOTS of laundry and I love this machine.
