My latest KPCM050NP from Kitchenaid has once again showed signs of bubbling paint. I have solved what plagues these now discontinued units.Tonight I removed the stainless basket and the entire lid of the coffeemaker. I have determined the problem to be dielectric corrosion. A very serious engineering flaw not bad paint has been the cause all along. You see the filler opening has a stainless steel grate. This grate is screwed into the lid housing that is composed of die cast painted aluminum. From a chemistry and engineering perspective this is a major error. I cannot understand how such a blatant disregard for the inevitable dielectric corrosion could be ignored. This all could have been avoided if the stainless filler grate had been insulated from the aluminum housing or a compatible metal had been used in the first place.

I read reviews online and for the most part they were all positive for this coffee maker. I did read some reviews where many of these coffee makers were defective as well. I decided to take a chance. Peet's coffee and Starbucks was getting to be too expensive to buy on a daily basis so I decided to put down a good chunk of money for a decent coffee maker. I didn't want my coffee to taste like plastic anymore (from the cheaper coffee makers). The first batch of coffee I made was absolutely the best coffee I have ever had from a coffee maker. I didn't feel the need to go to Starbucks or Peet's anymore. I actually tasted the coffee and it was very hot, like how coffee is supposed to be. However, after just 1 month of using the product the water gauge was not recognizing how much water I was putting in it. I would put in 8 cups of water, but it would only brew 4 cups. I tried to drain all the water and start from scratch but this did not help either. [...] Yes, it is an inconvenience to wait for my new ProLine but in my opinion, the taste of the coffee it brewed makes it worth the wait.

I love the fact that this coffeemaker has a solid metal construction and very limited use of plastic components compared to most mainstream coffeemakers, and I'm very happy with the piping hot temperature of the coffee as well.

This is a great coffee maker. Brews coffee fast and at the right temperature to bring out the flavor. Holds the temperature after brewing so every cup is like the first. It has a prefilter for the water which is a nice feature in itself. Had to remove the flap from the coffee craft lid as it cause the coffee to spill around the cup while pouring. Over all I am very pleased with this product.

I drink coffee everyday and ordered this to replace a thermal carafe style coffee maker. To me, it has just the right features except a pause function which is minor.

I made 3 great pots of coffee and then it wouldn't power on. BUMMER!! And a bit disappointing for a maker of this price (about $200).

Kitchenaid sent a new unit without 1 bit of hassle and I have made great coffee everyday since.

I'm sorry but I couldn't give this maker a higher than 3 rating, but until this unit runs flawlessly for some time, I would have to still question it's durability. From a coffee making standpoint it's a solid 5.

I have had many coffee makers in the past; Bunn, Cuisinart, etc. The KitchenAid Pro Line feels and looks well built. Excellent Packaging. All of the major parts are metal, which is almost everything. Consistent brewing, over and over. Very simple to use. I love my coffee every day and I get that with this machine! Thanks Kitchen Aid.

This is the second KitchenAid Proline coffee maker that we own. It is sturdy, and consistently dependable. No fancy bells and whistles, just solid coffee brewing performance. We tried other brands, but have come back to this fine product.

I love this coffee maker because I can program it to brew at a specific time when I want it and it will be ready for me. It brews at a high temp which gives the coffee an excellent flavor. It also shows how long since you brewed the pot of coffee and it will turn itself off after 120 minutes.

I have owned a basic KitchenAid coffee maker for about 8 years. Never had a problem and it always worked well. I thought it was time for a new maker and fell in love with design of the Proline. I was a little concerned about the number of reviews I saw that had defects with the product, but figured KitchenAid has a fantastic warranty. After 3 week, I have not had any of the issues described in any of the reviews that I read on this or anyother site. The coffee is always hot and tastes very good. Clean up is easy, no problems with pouring, condensation, hot plate, cheap material, etc. It's a solid machine. It looks great and has caught the eye of everyone that has seen it.
