We tried this in the oven and also the barbeque. It never once worked good. Sometimes it would beep as soon as you put in in the meat. Sometimes it seemed to be ok, and then within seconds it would go from 100 to 160 and say the meet was done when it was not. We tried it in the oven with prime rib, and it was nowhere close to being correct as far as temperature or doneness. I would not recommend this to anyone.
