Had two ice makers, both had problems.

BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The first ice maker I had kept blowing the fuse and eventually sparked, smoked and something burned inside it. The second ice maker leaked water from underneath between the joints. I won't try a third, requested money refund.

Cons:

Emits a lot of warm air
